Topic: So much for 12 weeks Posted: 19 September 2011 at 4:46pm |
So I just found out today (at my 12 week scan) that I am in fact.....22 weeks pregnant. Baby is happy and healthy, and everything looks normal. Was such a massive shock to see spine and head THAT big at my first scan. Needless to say, I have some serious organising to do, i.e. Blood tests etc. Midwife was flabberghasted that I am barely showing.
Oh my goodness, I am so overwhelmed right now.

Wow! That IS a bit of a shock - I take it you didn't have a dating scan early on? Ah well, you'll be fine... don't blame you for being a bit gobsmacked though.

Oh wow! Yeah I can understand why you'd be a bit stunned! You've still got 18 weeks or so to get yourself organised And at least you knew you were preggy though eh? I used to work with a woman that didn't realise she was preggy til she was 7 or 8 months along
Oh and come and join Hopes and I in the due in Jan 2012 thread

Well, I only found out about 3 weeks ago that I was actually pregnant. And the nurse at Family Planning told me I was around 8-10 weeks. I have only JUST started showing....
So no, this was meant to be my first scan. Turns out it was my first and last scan! Very excited that we dont have to wait too long to meet baby. Meeting up with the midwife tonight for a bit of a discussion on plan of attack from here! Baby was even sucking it's thumb (happy tears)

Apparently I'm one of those mothers who doesn't realise they're pregnant until they go to the loo one day and out pops a baby! HAHA!
Thanks for all your well wishes

with my first if I hadn't looked in my diary and realised I hadn't gotten my AF for awhile I could have gone weeks without knowing,I didn't show till over 28 weeks and I didn't feel baby move till I was 22 weeks.
My friend I mentioned above, felt a bit"off" did a HPT,was positive so she went to the dr,who said she felt like she was a bit further on,so sent her for an urgent scan which showed that she was 30 weeks and having a girl.
She text her partner "yes,pregnant,30 weeks, having a girl" ..he didn't text back and then she got a phone call from his boss saying he had got her text and fainted! hahahaha!!!!
...so did you get to find out the gender?

Kelly, I knew I was late but couldn't remember when and how long haha! I almost didn't go to the doctors at 8 weeks! I almost held off! I could easily have got to 23ish weeks without realising - that was when I felt movement first.

Hehe a friend of mine didnt find out until 7 months (She was told her PCOS was so bad she'd never concieve) and even then only because she had to see a chiropractor who felt her tummy and pelvis before starting treatment and was like..um..you didnt tell me you're pregnant! Poor girl. In hindsight though she said she did have really bad morning sickness but thought she was drinking too much
Anyway, congrats! I'm actually a little bit jeleous - pregnancy take soooo long, and you just got fast tracked!
