I followed some of the advice in there - but never used the routines, cos I don't wake babies if they are sleeping. And at about 5-6 months she put herself into a routine.
to some extent when DD was older but I found the times a bit restrictive. I think the general concept is good but like any routine, you take what works for you and throw out the rest, otherwise you never get out of the house as you can obsess about throwing the routine out of whack.
Completely agree. I'm using it mostly to get him to learn to self settle (as he only settles off breast so he is attached 24/7). Will also be good to have a base routine for him which I can then adapt to suit. Well, that is the plan at least :)
I did find that some of the time frames were a bit long for my bubs as there was no way she could stay awake for 2 hours so early on. But was useful for settling.
I read Save our Sleep - Toddler by the same author almost a month ago. We had major problems at bedtime and it took just 1 night for us! DS now goes down without a peep at bedtime at night and for his naps (we even get a little wave when we leave the room, so cute!) & he has woken just once at 3 or 4am (he had been waking at that time for a long time).
I loved Save our Sleep. We used it from quite early on. Having said that, we didn't follow it to the letter, just used the bits that worked and ignored the rest. But it was awesome for helping us know how long bubs was supposed to be awake for in the early days.
