Topic: Robitussin - When and how much? Posted: 03 November 2006 at 8:25am |
OK, so I was in the pantry last night doing my grocery shopping list, adn what did I find? An almost full bottle of robitussin expectorant! Woohoo! Score!
Now ...how much do you take when you take it, and when do you take it?
And the chocolate ...I may as welll know about that too ...do you chow down on your fertile days, or have a few pieces every day?

Chocolate, all day every day I say
As for the Robitussum, I think I took it at night, for BDing at night. The idea of how it works is it loosens mucus in your chest if you have a cough, but does teh same to other mucus as well, however I don't believe the effects last that long.
I think from memory the ideal is about 1 hour before the deed.
Ours is a Robitussum baby, and dh was on multi vitamins as well, so the swimmers were in their best shape!

It's the one in the red box called Robitussin EX Chesty Cough. On the front of the box it lists guaiphenesin 200mg as the main ingredient. Don't go for any other type that lists something else in addition to it as a main ingredient on the front of the box. If you take this stuff it can mean that the cough medicine can have a reverse effect and you could be left very dry "down there"!
still looking for choc info for you :)

Apparently so Clare ...the Robitussin stimulates mucus which helps the boys swim!

we tried for 3 months, and the month we fell I was on the cough medicine. DH also took multi vitamins, and I OPKed and took my temp so knew optimum time.
HOWEVER!!! at that critical time I was very sick and throwing up so it was maybe 2 half hearted efforts at it so really thought it wouldn't be the time for us, but it worked!

Ashleigh is a robitussin baby as is my nephew - and both were conceived first month taking it! Coincidence?? Maybe not....
