Ok So I washed all of babies clothes and dried them on the line in the garage.

No difference to drying them outdoors and all the smoke etc that could be around from peoples fires? I'd just smell them when you bring them in...they will be well aired.
It must be a pregnancy hormone thing to overthink everything...if left to my own devices I could come up with all sorts of things
