Ben is 13 and a half mths and the last week has refused to be spoon fed anything but yogurts which he makes a small fuss about...

He will feed himself cheese and a few noodles, bread, potatoes, peas etc but this is seriously a mouthful or 2 and then he throws them on the floor , all done.

Surely he needs more than that to survive!!, hes walking around so I though he'd need more food , not less.

He tries to feed me with a spoon ( more like posting I think!) but will not put the spoon in his mouth and not even goodies like chocolate mouse get that jaw unclamped!

Any suggestions.. we've tried moving meal times back but heshe still is done after a mouthful and he doesn't have much milk maybe 150mls a day tops he prefers water...

I've been told that around 12-15 months babies appetites go down quite dramatically - coincides with their slow down in growing after the first year. Could be that he is just not as hungry as he used to be.

Hey there - he could be teething, my little man always loses his appetitie when he has teeth coming through - honestly if he is hungry he'll eat, I often panic over this as well.... Fabian will sometimes go to bed and have not eaten anything at dinner and he's almost 19 months, try not to panic, but I would say if it continues for more than a couple of weeks maybe take him to the doc.

Hey Emma, babies wont starve themselves, Rhiannon doesnt eat as much as she use to, i have found that she doesnt like to be feed, so i give her a spoon and i have a spoon and i let her feed herself inbetween me giving her a spoonful.

another options is to just let him snack when he wants and just keep lots of healthy stuff on hand.

Rhiannon snacks on fruit, yoghurt, cheese, rice crackers, biscuits. Oh and she doesnt drink any milk at all now, not formula or cows milk, unless its on her weetbix but drinks ton of water

I wouldn't worry about it as well. Hannah at 1yo didn't care too much for milk over water either and I've never wanted to make too much fuss over food so if they don't want it, I'll just finish that meal there and then and offer more food at the next meal. Don't get into the trap of only offering treats so they'll eat - they'll eat when they are hungry anyway. And he probably wants to feed himself.

haleigh went through that phase, hers was only at dinner time, she would eat ehr breakfast and lunch but dinner time we could barely get anything into her.
we just had to be patient no matter how frustrating it was and keep in mind that toddlers dont starve themselves they'll eat if their hungry.
shes only now slowly starting to enjoy ehr dinner again
