it to take for you to become pregnant. me personally i thought it would be a few months. mainly because of my age (I am 31)
But nope it seems my husband have very strong swimmers and they were determined to get to the egg..lol.
so after only 1 month..well ok make that less than a week of trying (if you can even call it trying) I was pregnant.
and now I am almost halfway through :)

We thought it would take a few to 6 months? But once we really started "trying" it only took about 6 weeks I guess.
We were very lucky. Now only 49 days to go eeekkkkkk!!!!

We were told I had to undergo fertility treatment as I hadn't had a proper AF since I was 15 ! Lo and behold, my body decided to ovulate about a month into trying. I found out the day before I was supposed to start fertility drugs (was just using up the last pg test, I had no symptoms really). My spec said it was a once in a blue moon type thing, so TTC #2 will be interesting

I remember people telling me before my husband and I bought a house that I should start trying now (this was like a few years before we bought our first home) as it could take a few years. Glad I never listened to them :)

I thought it would take me a good 6 months to a year because I am very overweight and apparently that can affect your fertility. So we were surprised but happy when we got the BFP on the second month.

Maya was a Pill baby, so we didn't expect to have any problems conceiving. 13 months and one miscarriage later we finally got one that stuck - then split in half and made the gremlins

We had only been together six months when I got pregnant and we weren't TTC. My periods are like clockwork, and when we didn't bother to use the withdrawal method and it was the middle of my cycle, I knew straight away that I would be pregnant. And I was!

Took us 6 months to conceive our wee man. It had a lot to do with bad timing of hubby being away for work but we got there.

my husband and i started trying once we moved in together in jan 2000 and gabriel was born in nov 2003, by which time i had practically given up. so it doesnt always happen sooner than you think. ooops that doesnt really answer the question tho - 6 months is how long i thought it would take...and should say that between the time we started and gabriel was born we had a couple of miscarriages too.

I know there are a lot of women on here that will be saying "Bitch!!" to a few of us. I was told that I would probably have trouble conceiving due to PCOS (which I dispute). So we thought we'd start sooner rather than later. I'm 34 so clock is ticking and we would like 3. Well.......we fell pregnant straight away! at first our dates from LMP took us to literally the first night we tried unprotected but the scan suggests we may have had a week or so of practice .
We are so happy!!!! I just wish everyone had itthis easy

We thought I was pregnant about 3 months ago and when It turned out that I wasnt we were really upset, so we decided to start trying and we conceived on the second month of trying.
I thought it would take longer than that but I honestly think it was the legs up on the wall trick that did it

Dh and I decided after the wedding (November), Christmas and New Years that we would start trying (assuming it would take at least a few months) and was pregnant straight away!! Never knew it could be so easy, and felt that life is unfair, cos for alot of people it isn't that easy... we were very lucky!

With my first pregnancy it took us about 14 months of trying before conceiving (sadly ending at 9 weeks with a m/c) and with Piper we had been trying for about 5 months.

I fell pregnant while on the pill in June 04 and miscarried at 8 weeks.
We got married in Nov 05 and decided to start trying right away. Figuring that since I got pg while on the pill it would happen quickly (2-3 months) it ended up taking 18 months...
So we're pretty apprehensive about the whole thing.
I have a scan on the 10th of July...so can't wait for that

we have only tried for one of our babies because the first was a surprise and so was this one. but i expected to fall pg stright away with number 2 as we were both young(25) and healthy but a year later we finally got pg (lots of pg tests later). much better having a surprise i think no waiting involved ha ha.

For us, two weeks out from our wedding we decided to go the no protection way and see what would happen. A week after the wedding (and while on honeymoon), a/f was due and she didn't arrive, turns out I was 1 week and 2 days pregnant at our wedding! So two weeks of "lets see what happens" has produced our much wanted little bubs!
Personally I believed it would take a minimum of 6 months. I have many friends that have had trouble conceiving or have had to got the IVF route, so I had mentally prepared myself for anything really.

When we started TTC i was 35 and had been on the Pill for 15 years so i expected it to take a few months, but when 6 months went by and AF was arriving regularly I got a bit concerned and it took us a year. I was beginning to wonder if we should just give up and go back to our old life when suddenly my boobs grew huge overnight and AF was very very late

Not at all (well, not for me anyways). I stopped taking the pill a year before we wanted to start TTC, so thought we would get pregnant straight away - 18 months later and the threat of fertility tests (including sperm count) got those tadpoles where they should be
I'm charting already even though we don't want to start TTC until january (I never went back on the pill) just to see what my cycles are doing now and I can see now why it took us 18mths

We figured it would take about 4 months of TTC and it took us 6. Had just got DH sperm test done when we found out so we knew what the results of that was going to be before they even rang though.
Should add that I have clockwork periods and neither of us have fertility issues - so for those TTC who haven't after a couple of months don't stress.

We thought about 6 months to a year too. I wanted to be pregnant before I turned 30 so we started trying in January 07 to see what happens. Lo and behold 3 weeks later symptoms started and test confimed at the doctors much to his surprise (he thought it was too early to have symptoms!!)

I'm another first month trying girl. We had everything planned - finish the house renovations, go on holiday, then TTC.
Well we got back to NZ on 3 Feb, and must have conceived that week! Very sickening to most of our friends, but I figure we've had enough other problems so it's nice that this was straight forward!
