My bottom feels really bruised today. No idea what's caused it, I haven't done anything differently in recent days so I'm pretty sure it's not something I've done to it. My inner/upper thighs and butt just feel really achey and bruised, to the point where it's quite uncomfortable bordering on painful to be sitting down even on a well-padded chair.

It hurts a bit to walk around too, so I'm moving pretty slowly today.

Oh, and the cold toilet seat hurts so much to sit on that I hover above it or avoid going to the loo for as long as I can - the cold is just agonising on my skin, to the point of making me cry, and it's never bothered me before.

Has anyone had this before? I'd feel like a prat ringing my doctor to say that my bottom hurts, so I thought I'd see if anyone else can shed some light on it (so to speak) first.

Pregancy?

Seriously, it is everything stretching and relaxing from the hormone relaxin that is released to relax everything in prep for bubs to escape. Some people feel the pain a lot worse than others - not very nice that you seem to have it so bad!

Mine feels bruised too. Almost like someone has given me a good boot on the arse (or between the legs)...actually very much like riding a bike with a hard seat. I find a bath helps

Oh good idea Fleur - you can check for hemarrhoids (sp) i think by checking out your bits in a mirror. maybe have a bit of a google to see if the symptoms match, have a look then you can feel happier telling your MW.   I think it is a matter of a cream to make it feel better.

Yep me too - not all the time, only if I've done heaps of walking...

I'm pretty sure it's not haemmorhoids (sp?) because I've had them for a couple of months now and they only hurt during bowel movements (sorry, way TMI) rather than ache like this. This feels like it's right across my seat rather than localised.

But thank you for the ideas, keep 'em coming if you think of any more.

That's exactly what it feels like! Good analogy I'll give baths a go.

I had that when I was pregnant, but put it down to standing on concrete floors at work for 10ish hours a day (was a chef before I had Elle), and also to things stretching moving etc due to pregnancy.

Have you been on your feet lots? I thought it might be due to the extra weight whilst standing.

It also could be SPD (symphisis pubis dysfunction). I had it something chronic with Maya, my whole pelvic ring ached constantly, and my butt was sore from all the extra weight on it.
