Hiya,
Hoping for some advice! I have been having problems with my left leg for a couple of weeks, its been feeling fatigued and had pins and needles in my foot now and again. This tends to come and go.
But my latest symptom is i am getting a throbbing pain at the top of my calf. There is no redness, swelling, or heat on the area.
Is this just another normal preggy symptom? I am off to see the obstetrician this afternoon for a scheduled visit so plan on asking her while i am there, but i wondered if anyone else has had these symptoms?
thanks in advance :)

I had cramps there. There are two things it could be: 1 is the baby sitting on a nerve and/or blocking some of the blood flow to your legs. 2 is cramps, for which I was advised to sprinkle extra salt on my food and have a magnesium supplement if it continued. Some people get it for ages but for me I had it on and off from about 20-26 weeks through to the end.
Funny story - once I started kicking my foot in the middle of the night to get things moving and stop the cramp. My DH thought I was having a bad dream and he rolled over and put his arm over me and started saying 'it's alright' etc. I tore his arm off me and fled the bed asap so I could stand up and get the cramp to go away. I was saying 'it's NOT alright!' LOL as I tried to pry his tired-heavy arm off me

I also think there is something you can get from the health stores - can't remember if its a spray or lotion or something but its supposed to be great for instant relief for cramps (just ask them), but definitely in the long term you might need to up your magnesium and calcium...

Yeah Calla I am having trouble with cramps at the moment, and find that if I get them while I am asleep and takes awhile to make it better, I wake up in the morning with a sore calf - where the cramp was..

I haven't had calf pain as such, but I get numb legs and pins and needles in my feet if I sit down for longer than about half an hour in one spot, especially if I am kind of restricted to movement! I got it really bad the other night when I was at a meeting and had to get up and go for a walk to get the blood flowing again!

peachy, i have the same thing as you as well as the throb in the calf. Spoke to the ob last night and she said the numbness and pins and needles means i have likely hurt my back and so has referred me to physio. Maybe you have the same thing.
the calf pain she put down to cramps and also that i have a few varicose veins in that spot that could also be causing the problem.
Thanks to you all for your replies!
