How are you all feeling? I am very tired now which I haven't been since the first trimester and getting lots of reflux again aswell.

I have been a 'shoreite' all my life but now live on the Hibiscus Coast, but still consider myself a Shore girl...
I'm 31 weeks on Tuesday and starting antenatal on the 3rd July.
I am just starting to notice a bit of tiredness creeping in, but have been lucky not to suffer any tiredness, nausea, reflux, heartburn or anything else the entire pregnancy.

I'm a shore girl too, in Takapuna, 33 weeks yesterday
Having a fairly sh!tty time at the moment (back pain, hip pain, lots of tiredness, haemorrhoids and thrush), but there's a huge light at the end of this tunnel so I'm hanging out for that.
I think there's quite a few shore girls around the place?

We were using Maternity Associates on Sunset Road, but we have changed to Kate Shepherd in Takapuna. We only changed because the Midwife we had chose not to work with our Specialist. The Midwife we have now prefers to work with Specialists.

That's interesting Mookey. Next time I see my MW, that's something I'm going to check out.I want a specialist on call, should I need one.

I'm on the shore too (Unsworth Heights). I'm only 9 1/2 weeks pregnant. Only a few minor compaints from me and other than those everything is really good.
I am also going through Kate Sheppard, and although I've only had one appointment so far I really liked my midwife.

I think they only work with ones they know. She had never worked with our specialist so didnt want to know about it.

Hey Mookie, I'm just off Unsworth Drive near Upper Harbour Highway. I'd love to live where you are ... nice and close to Wairau Park! SHOPPING!!!
On the Kate Sheppard website they refer to 2 specialists that they work with so they may only stick with them. Not sure though?

I too am with Kate Sheppard midwifery and my MW was telling me that they work with Dr Paul Henderson (not sure of the other specialist though).
Star - what I did initially when I first found out I was pregnant was called a place called Altaire (I don't think that's the right name but I will post it up later when I get home, with their ph number). It is basically a free 1 hour appt with a MW who outlines all your options for care then they find you a suitable MW. I certainly found that a lot easier than ringing around.

hello! i'm another shore girl - i'm 18 weeks. Think i felt my first kicks on the weekend, so very excited!
Star, we also used Altair, Phone number is 410 5715 and you speak with Raewyn Burnham.
I am with ShoreBirth Obstetricians (mainly because i have other health issues and decided to stick with a specialist as my LMC), and so far so good. Next appt tomorrow afternoon - yay a heartbeat check!!!

I'll just scrape in here.... yep a Shore-girl (Bayswater) and about to pop at any moment!!!
I'm also with Kate Sheppard, and yep they work with Paul Henderson. If you need a specialist whilst you are in labour, there is always the one on duty at NSH if you haven't organised Paul as well. From memory I think he charges about $3k
Hint when packing your labour bag for NSH - put in a drink bottle. They have plenty of nice cold water, but they only have those silly little plastic cups to drink out of. You don't want your support person running in and out of the room to fetch you water all the time!!
Good luck to you all

Hi all,
Another one here - I'm in Takapuna and another one using Kate Sheppard.
Sally Belly are you doing parents center AN classes? If so maybe we'll be in the same one given you're due close to me and live close by.

Hey Bobbie, yes we're enrolled in Parent's Centre classes but the one in Takapuna was full so we're doing the class in Albany. I am hoping they'll be some other girls who live closer to me also in the class otherwise I don't really want to be driving to Albany for coffee mornings

We're doing our classes at the Onewa Parents Centre in Birkenhead in August.
Is anyone doing any exercise classes on the Shore? I'm thinking of starting yoga classes in Taka next month

oh bummer Sally Belly - If you don't have anyone close to you in your class I'm sure you could squeeze into the Taka coffee group
I'm not enrolled in any exercise classes but I did get lent a preggi belly exercise DVD from my friend. Speaking of which I should go find a swiss ball.....

Hey ladies,
I'm not quite on the shore (West Harbour, so almost walking distance to the shore!) but I did grow up on the shore and am delivering at NSH (because my LMC is in devonport), so close enough eh?!
Paul Henderson is my docs backup, my sister's gyne and a friend whos a GP has worked with him too - and they all say he's brilliant.
I'm due tomorrow, so hopefully not much longer .....
An update on AN E - she has had her bub now.
