Hi everyone!
I am in need of some inspiration!
DD is 2 next month and I want to hold a themed party but can't think much past DS's nappies and lack of sleep at the moment so any ideas of themes and activities would be wonderful.
Best idea gets an invite!
(tee hee...not that anybody in their right mind would choose to go to a 2 year old birthday party!)

If you pick a theme like butterflies, fairies or something like that, you will find it easy to find things from the $2 etc.. it seems like it's hard to find some character party supplies.
For Ellas 1st bday I did butterflies and had red and purple as the colours, I managed to get red and purple serviettes, paper plates, cups etc through the $2 shop and some supermarkets.
Good luck

Even if you have a character party, just having plain colours works out cheaper. For Jake's second party we had a Blues Clues party. we had a Blue's clues table cloth, birthday cake and banner. We had plain blue balloons, and decorations. looked quite cool. For games we played "blues Clues", and pinata.

We didn't bother with a theme for Andrew's birthday (today). He had 2 toddle friends (invite the same number of children as the age that this kiddie is turning up to age 5), as well as the grandparents, uncle, aunt and a couple of friends (15 people all up, because at 2 he gets a bit freaked in large crowds) and we set the lounge up as a great big play room, with all of the couches etc at the edge of the room and loads of toys, a slide and swing set and tent and tunnel in the middle of the room. I filled a portacot with balloons, so after lunch snacks we let them all out into the room and the kids had great fun. The birthday cake was a banana Monkey (just like Andrew), there were cupcakes, sausage rolls, and loads of free play. We've had a great day and Andrew had a blast.

Well my girl is into Dora the explorer. And I think you can get loads and loads of stuff of the internet ect.
How about a mermaid one? Or pretty much anythingn can go with a girl.
I have decided this year to just spent the day out as a family with our girl. She was so tired after her first birthday and I was running around like a mad thing making coffee and teas for everyone. So this year we are taking her to the zoo and spent the day there and take picnic food with.
Might have a BBQ out somewhere for the family the day before.
Cant wait to hear what you have decided on.

Yay i love kiddie parties (hehe i'll come)
Theme's are endless. What is your DD into?
Princess, Fairy tales, Animals, Cartoon Characters, Fairies etc.
Here are a few places you can get ideas & supplies from
http://www.partyboxes.co.nz - Party Boxes
http://www.madhatter.co.nz - Mad Hatter's Tea Party
http://www.partypack.co.nz - The Party Pack co
Say you were having a fairy party you could make lil fairy gardens with plastic plates filled with dirt decorated with sticks, leaves, glitter, petals etc. Then sprinkled with magic fairy dust (flour) Each guest could make 1 to take home.
Crafts are good activities to keep guest entertained & gives them something to take home & remember the party other than lollies etc. Maybe making & decorating fairy wands.
Food could include fairy bread, star shaped biscuits or cupcakes decorated.
You could also look at hiring an entertainers

Hope this gives you some ideas
