A friend of mine and I were talking about how long cradle cap takes to settle.... how old were your kids when they "grew out of" cradle cap? -------------  |

I would be interested to know. Tyrell had cradle cap from his excema, which I am still battling with and can't wait for it to clear up. Sorry no help. |

Lycan had a little bit but it's all gone now and he's 9.5months old. I used to massage his head with vaseline leave it for 5-10mins then wipe it out with a dry cloth or in the bath. Didn't think it would work but it did! -------------

McKayla was really weird. She had a bit of cradle cap right above her eyebrows. Yip you read correctly. Luckily my antenatal midwive gave me a great tip on a product and it dissapeared within a week and never had it again. So I will say 3 weeks. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

I must admit. Dont really have trouble with McKayla's skin. She gets a slight rash that other people cant even see as soon as their is a product change or something like that, but her skin never really gave me any hard problems as such. ------------- http://lilypie.com">

The gremlins got shocking cradle cap in their eyebrows which gradually spread up their foreheads and into their hair and got red and scaly and exczema like. The doctor prescribed them some diprozone (sp) lotion which helped clear up the redness but they still have a little cradle cap on their scalps. Maya never had it so I don't know when they'll grow out of it. ------------- Maya Grace (28/02/03)

My Plunket nurse told me recently that cradle cap in the eyebrows is generally linked (somehow!) with excema. ------------- |

charli is a baldy bub which shows off her bad cradle crap. i've started putting a little baby oil on her head each day then wash it off after a few mins...seems to be helping a bit.

| Jake has it too, and refuses to stay still long enough for me to pick it off with tweezers. i got told that it is mainly cosmetic and not to worry. now jake is no longer bald you can't tell. funny thing, he has beautiful skin and always has had, while Taine has some scaly patches and never had cradle cap at all. |

| Gabriella didnt reallu have any....and what did look a little dry we used baby oil on and it goes...we wash her hair twice a week - mum showed me a great way and i think that really helps...the way they used to do it in hosp - quite hard rub with baby bath on a cloth and really wet it. |

| Alyssa had it early on in her hair and eyebrows.. I used grape seed oil on it and that worked really well, basically left it on there for the day and then combed it all out that night. Looked gross coming off but was a gentle way of removing it. I think it was pretty much all gone by the time she was 6 months.. |

Erm ...believe it or not, my youngest brother is 23 and he still gets it!! 
What my mum used to do for him is cut a lemon in half, and rub a lemon over his head. It'd soften and loosen it, and then it would wash off. Mum used to do that when we were little, but I couldn't say how good or bad it would be for a baby. my first baby (now six) when she got it i used baby oil in her bath and it cleared right up made for a very slipery baby though. i used baby oil on my second right from the start and she never got it. also moistrised her head to toe afther her bath made her smell so nice. ------------- http://lilypie.com">
