We just lost our baby at 8 weeks pregnant ( very sad but doing ok now) so I am back here again

Has anyone else tried to conceive straight after a miscarriage or is it recommended to wait, I didn't have a D & C.

Thanks ladies, heres to a quick pregnancy - fingers crossed

Emma you don't have to wait, some people do for ease of dates or to allow their body to settle but it's not necessary. My SIL was pg again one month later, I had one period in between m/c and next pg but it was quite an unusually long cycle for me.

I am insterested to hear the answer to this question also Emma and hopefully hopefully i may be able to persuade mike around to the idea of possibly having another.. so was planning on waiting for 2 cycles to be sure things have settled and are "back to normal".

am interested to hear other's experiences etc.

I had one cycle and then fell pregnant after that. Was told by the OB (I think) that it was better to wait one cycle to get back on track so to speak. Certainly thought it would take a while to get pregnant but was very happy when I got pregnant on the next cycle.

We have two boys and DH is happy with that but I have since had a conversation with him to say that I would like to try for another one as I would like a girl. I know I will probably end up having another boy but thought it was a great reason to give it another go!!!!!

I remember reading a post that a girl who is a GP wrote on my other TTC board. She said there was absolutely no good reason why you should have to wait, usually falling PG after M/C can be a fair bit easier. She fully recommended jumping back on the horse (so to speak).

Big Hugs and I hope you get pregnant again really fast, big loves to your heavenly angel too

I was told by the OB to wait until my first post-m/c AF to make dating pregnancy easier, and to allow my system to sort itself out properly and the endometrial lining to build up again (I had a d and c).

I fell pregnant in the cycle after my first post m/c AF about 6 weeks after the d and c.

I am sorry to hear of your loss Emma.

I had a m/c in early Feb (no D&C tho) and my MW at the time told me there was no good reason to wait before ttc (if you feel up to it emotionally of course). So we just carried on and I fell pregnant the following month. We never expected it to happen so soon but for some reason it just did.

My MW also told me that often you're quite fertile after a m/c but I've never heard that anywhere else so not sure.

Best wishes

Good to know, we don't have to wait as I am very impatient, just want the bleeding to stop (TMI) and then of we go, fingers and toes crossed!

Hi Emma,

I'm an Emma too!!!, I m/c a month ago at 12w (baby had stopped growing at 8 1/2 weeks though - didn't find out until 12 w scan). I had a d&c/erpoc on 27th April, and had lots of people give me different opinions on when to start trying again - my gynocologist and nurse at the hospitalafter the D&C and then my GP also, told me theres no reason to wait - its just that for dating purposes its good to know when your last AF was.
For me - I didn't use protection over the last month and thought if I concieved that'd be great, but alas, AF arrived for me yesterday so at least I can try and caculate when I am ovulating this month and TTC again! Feel free to PM me if you want

Fingers crossed!
emachan (emma)
