does anyone else have a huge amount of wasps in their town? we have a huge lot at home - can't find a nest and they are a little too interested in the kids play equipment which means we are inside on a beautiful day. Playcentre has lots of them too, and on sunday we went to the National Arboterum and Taine was stung on the nexk repeatedly by a wasp that got caught in his collar. poor bub! he was fine though.

any ideas how to repel them?

No ideas how to get rid of them, but we have heaps at the moment, they are the ones that chew up the wood and take it to make their nests, so they are busy munching away at our deck, I think they are building nests so they can hibernate for the winter, the only way to get rid of them is to find the nest, if you do spraying them with crc works really well, and do it in the evening or first thing in the morning before the day gets too hot, then they are sleepy and at home.

sorry to hear about your little boy, lucky he is okay.

my girls found our nest, just under a trees roots in the ground, they were trying to climb the trees in the garden. Lucky Anastasia was over by me & I was calling for Ashlyn to come in at the time that they started to swarm her. Managed to drag her away screaming (Idont think her feet even touched the ground!) We got off verylight with a couple of stings on the legs, 1 on her belly, & 1 on the inside of her lip so very lucky things wern't heaps worse they were sticking like glue while I was trying to swat them off. I think bees etc are attracted to blues. DH ut petrol in the hole & burnt them twice before getting rid of them

sorry for thread jacking, wasps scare me & I have only had 2 stings! hope it gets better for you with the cooler weather!!

I think you can contact your regional council and ask for help in most cases?
