Hiya's!
So, i'm really confused at the moment. DH and I have been trying for baby #2 since July 05.
My LMP was the 14/02/07, and i'm kinda aware of when I ovulate..so 2 weeks after LMP I had CM, and we of course got to it! :P , then on the 09/03/07 I had CM again! So of course we got to it again! !!
So in theory my period was due 15/03/07 according to my cycle, and no period, no symptoms. Normally the week before my period i'll get sore boobs and cramps. I've had a little bit of cramping but nothing else at all.
I'm extremely tired and moody and have been feeling nausea's of and on, i would've thought with all these symptoms i'd test positive already if i was preggers, but of course no, i've had nurmerous numbers of negative tests??
However, my last LMP was shorter than normal and lighter..normally it would be 5 days and heavy..this time is was 3 days and light.
I've been noticing some tightening and werid movements in my tummy which is also strange..is this all just wishful thinking?
I'm going to the DR tomorow evening and i'll be 2.5 weeks late. I'm so confused that it's doing my head in. Am i stupid going to the dr?

I've been trying not to think about it because it's hard! We've been trying for so long. I've set myself up for it to be a no until someone mentions that maybe i'm actually more pregnant than i thought because of last months period! *doh*
Going to the Dr after work at 6.15 2moro but it's not my normal Dr so not really sure what they'll say. Will definately come back to let you all know :)

Hi no you're not silly going to the Doctor. If your period is that late, it's worth checking out either way IMO. I certainly hope you are pregnant but it's like what Jess said, it really could be either way.... let us know how you get on!

Right..so i'm back from the Dr's which I must say was kind of a let down.
It wasn't my normal Dr, and this one didn't really have much to say. I think he was as confused as I am!!
So he did another pregnancy test..which i knew would be negative! And he's given me a form for blood tests which include:
Thyroid - TSH
Thyroid - T4 & T3
FSH
LH
Full Blood count..
Does any body know what the FSH, LH and Full Blood include? I'm not sure if this includes a pregnancy blood test just incase?

Hi Jen, thanks for letting us know. Must be frustrating still not having any answers though. Here are some links to Diagnostic MedLabs webpage with those details. Bit too much info to retype
http://www.dml.co.nz/fsh.asp - FSH & LH
http://www.dml.co.nz/bloodtest.asp - Full Blood Count
Just going to have a read through myself.

Gosh Jen, they make no sense to me. it doesn't look as though a pregnancy test is there (see no mention of hcG or anything like it) but maybe someone who has actually had the blood tests can tell you what it's listed as on the forms.
I hope you get answers soon

Thanks Amber! I had a read and was thinking 'omg' i don't understand any of this..although i did read something that mentioned ovulation..! and cycle..so maybe the Dr is trying to determine where in my cycle i'm at!

I had those tests done when I was TTC the gremlins.
They do some on Day 3 of your cycle and some between days 18-21 depending on how long your cycle usually is.
FSH is Follicle Stimulating Hormone, LH is Luteinising Hormone and the thyroid tests are to check for any thyroid issues that may be preventing pregnancy.
I'll have a hunt back and see if I can find my results (which were normal) to give you some idea.

Found them!

Ok, so I have had the first lot of fertility blood tests done and all look good so far.
On CD 3 my results were:
FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) - 4.6 (Excellent, indicates that I have a good store of healthy eggs.
LH - 3.3 (normal, and good FSH-LH ratio)
Prolactin - 153 (normal for someone who has had a baby already)
And my CD 19 progesterone (2 days after ovulation) was 20.3. Not sure what that means exactly, but the chart I was looking at says that over 10 is good and over 15 is excellent, so that looks OK too. |

Hey Jen,
From someone who works at the lab... Those tests will not tell you if you are pregnant, the only one that can do that is HCG. Thyroid tests are done to rule out an underactive thyroid (a cause of tiredness etc). Full blood count is a reasonably standard test, just measures the amount of each type of blood cell and is an indicator for a lot of things. Maya has pretty much covered the FSH and LH - they go up and down during your cycle and can pinpoint where you are in your cycle (see the chart on the link). If you are pregnant they will be low, as your follicles will not be stimulated to release an egg!
My suggestion is, (not that I'm condoning this to everyone as your Dr has to pay for each test) but if you REALLY want to know if you are pregnant, and have not had your bloods done yet, just write HCG/ betaHCG/ pregnancy test on your form, and the lab will do it for you
All the best, and hope it all works out for you.

Unfortunately my form is printed out with all the different tests the Dr has requested (not my normal dr) and i think they'd know if i write HCG :(
Hopefully it's something that can easily be fixed..well with a little help?! will let you all know what the come back as!
Thanks for all your help girls, you've been amazing!!
