Well after Gabriella had mega muchdown on mine i was in agony...and so opened up (finally) the freebies from P and C show of hydragel breast pads from Mother Mates.
They flex to shape, can be rinshed off, and also refridgerated if need be...
They worked instantly and relieved the pain and when rinsing off in cool water felt lovely when they went back on again. Only downside is they do not stop leaks and you leak under them
Have no idea where to buy them - if anyone knows where and cost please let me know too as they are awesome and my agony was relieved!!!

Sounds like they are really great BS, I will have to remember to try mine when I get sore. I would love to know how long they last for if anyone has any idea about this?

I have heard of them, but not sure who stocks them.
Cabbage leaves are a great soother, but be warned - they also dry up your milk so use them for short periods only.
I bought these things called Heat Me packs at the P and C show and found them great for sore boobies when I was breastfeeding (Willie has the large one for his back and he reckons it is great too). The heat also helped me to express out lumps.

There are also some type called Bustbuddies, which can be used cool or warmed in the microwave. You can get them on the breastmates.co.nz website.
