This morning DH and I went to our 12 week scan, only to be told we are having TWINS !!!
So I have gone from taking 18 ish months to fall pregnant, to having an instant family.
Now What........ I need help. I think I am still in shock to be honest!

Oh wow Oh wow. That is amazing. So when does that make you due? How long have you got to get used to the idea?
PS It's very exciting and if you were anywhere close to Palmy (which I don't think you are), I'd be nuttily clucky around you!

Congratulations! The same thing happened to my girlfriend - she took ages to get preggers & then ended up with twins too. You'll be fine. It will take a while to set in, but as she said when you have twins on your first go you don't know any better so it's just normal!

Wow congratulations, at least oyu found out now, i know some people who thought htere was only the one and out popped 2 hehe.
I think you can get help when you have multiples (not 100% you may have to ask Emma on that one).
We have twins on both mine and DFs side of the family so we were very suprised we havent produced any yet, my sister may be the lucky one (if she ever has kiddlets).

Crikey! What an amazing thing to discover - a shock I am sure, but it will be great once the shock wears off. Congrats!
Now if I were you I would be checking out all entitlements that are available (home help and stuff liket hat). I would also rethink my finish work date as chances are they could come early, and you will be exhausted as you get bigger!
Good luck!

I already am exhausted !!!! I know this is going to be a pretty crazy time over the next few years, but I really am excited and scared all at the same time.
Twins are in My Family, dad has twin older brothers, although I understand that twins aren't genetic... if that's the right word..... Woo Hoo at least the Grandies to be are happy to help out!

Wow - I want to say congrats and sucked in all at the same time!
I know the feeling of shock - can remember it very vividly in fact! Didn't really start to sink in till Maya pointed out "we're going to need 2 highchairs' and then I was like "Oh f**k - thats only the start of it!
But twins are great (so everyone keeps telling me anyways!)

And yep, identical twins are thought to be random (altho a recent study suggests there may be some genetic link) and fraternal are genetic thru the maternal line, altho a father can pass the twin gene on to his daughter.

Ooh congrads, we were worried we could have twins too, as it is on both sides, both fraterbnal and identical.
You have probably heard that twins almost always arrive early so watch out!!
I was talking to a customer the other day about twins as she has twin boys and then a third younger boy. She said at times it was actually easier with twins as they are a lot better at amusing themselves seeing there is 2 of them. So you might have an advantage over us mono-babies!!!!

If you can, put money into a savings account for now and don't buy anything for a while. I suspect once the news gets out, that you will have a lot of things offered to you.

I ended up buying my twin buggy in Australia - worked out $300 cheaper than similar ones here and I also got GST back on it at the airport!
