Okay since birth every time we cut her nails it is a screaming match. (first few times we didnt have it but around 6 weeks it started)
She will literally scream blue murder. She hates it and wriggles and will pull hair ect. It sounds like we are killing her.
Please tell me this is normal and will get better. I just hate doing it to her these days. It breaks my heart seeing her like that.
She is fine afterwards if I give the nail clippers to her. She tries to cut her own nails then.

I think they hate the confinement. I just hold on tight and make it as quick as I can. I'd deal with the hair-pulling though.

Okay thanks. I was just wondering if this is normal at all. She sounds like a freaking Banshee throwing a tantrum.

What about getting hubby to do it while shes feeding so that she is distracted. I can't help too much Andrew loves having his cut.

I find that if I distract Lachlan with another toy or something to hold on to it makes the job a lot easier and not as much of a mission.

Yeah Kobe used to hate it, now he is older he generally just sits there. When we do it to addison and kobe when he was younger we always did it while we were giving them the bottle and just swap sides, much easier. I know its horrible but remember your not hurting her.

Tried the feeding her while Daddy does it. You guys will understand when you meet this Madam. She is as stubborn as hell. Trying to give her a toy so she plays and doing it dont work either.
I even try to do it while she sleeps and that doesnt work either.

Darn, I was going to suggest doing it while she was sleeping!
Ella hated it for a long time too and now she loves it so I'm guessing she will grow out of it. Sorry, I've got no more ideas for in the meantime!

Most times Josiah throws a major hissy fit... to the extent that usually Nat holds him down and I go as fast as I can (or I hold him down with my legs). Then last week, I was trying to trim Xavier's nails and Josiah came up to me and watched very carefully before holding out his hand for me to do his nails too. Josiah then sat beside me on the couch and let me trim all his finger and toe nails quite happily! This morning there were no dramas at all!
Maybe if she sees you cut either yours or Daddy's, she might be a little happier about getting her own done.
