I thought we had left TT behind in the dim and distant past. Maya has been day TT since 22 months, still haven't got the night thing sorted but that doesn't worry me - she just wears trainers at night and she'll come to it when she's ready.

But in the past couple of weeks she's started having daytime accidents again. I'm pretty sure it's not regression coz of the twins arrival - I think a) she's too old and been TT for too long for that and b) the gremlins are 3 months, if she was going to regress I'd think it would have happened sooner.

Nope, I think it's just laziness. She waits until the absolute last possible minute before going to the toilet then can't get her knickers off in time and wets the bathroom floor. The other day she had an accident at the park, and of course I didn't have spare knickers coz I haven't needed them for months!

I've tried explaining to her that she has to go as soon as she first starts to 'feel' she needs to go, but am open to any other suggestions (other than beating her with a big stick which I keep threatening to do - funnily enough she doesn't take me seriously )

Hrmmmm... maybe you could let her know that if she is going to start having accidents then you are going to have to start taking her to the toilet at designated times. I know Hannah hates that... so maybe it'll work with Maya? Scare her back into independence?

Good luck!

Maybe when it happens at places like the park just take her home, if she is doing something fun and knows the fun will stop if she wets herself she might make more of an effort to get to the toilet.

It might be regression - you are poss paying more attetnion to them at nappy changing time due to the fancy pants you have for them and it may be that she doesnt want to stop what she is doing in case she misses out on something....

or maybe shes drinking lots more due to the heat and is just mis calculating it...

Ah yes, the fancy pants. Will see if it makes a difference when Fussy's fancy pants arrive. Altho Maya has fancy 'trainer' pants for night time too.

I still find that with Paris - she has been TT since last xmas during the day.. but argh - she will go months without.. then have a run of 4 or more days in a row where she just leaves it till the last minute. I think at this ge, they just get silly and lazy.. they get so cought up in their elaborate little games that they play now, that they just don't want to stop playing until it's too late and they think "oh crap!!"   it's beena while since she had accidents at daycare.. but that used to be the worst cos she was worried other kids would come and take her toys she was playing with while she went to the loo. she still does this with Ayja.. she'll come up to me and go, can you hold my toys while i go to the toilet (clearly busting..)and one by one put them up on the counter or on the talbe etc.. i usually end up saying "forget the fricken toys just go god damn it!!"

it's prob not regression they just get too caught up in their imagination etc. if it's just in general.. i have found when we are out, i make paris go loo before we leave and whenever we are at a convenient toilet stop.. still you can guarantee when we are in a place with no toilet, in the middle of something - she'll need to go. argh.

I share your frustration.

Yep Janine, we walked past the toilet the other day and I said "do you need to go". "Nope" so we go into the Mediare office and take a number in the queque. 5 minutes later "I need to go" so I told her she'd have to wait and she's like "I can't, I'm busting". Now tell me how she can go from not needing to go to being asbolutely bustingf in just 5 minutes!
