I just had to say it.

I'm entering my ovulatory phase, due to ovulate around Friday ish. At the moment, mother in law and husband's aunty are staying with us for the week, and towards the end of the week my brother in law and sister in law are arriving with our niece for the weekend.

We have a spare room at the end of the hallway, but across the hall is the back-up spare room, with a pull-out couch in it. But, it's such a small room that the pull out couch means you can't close the door. That's the room my MIL is in until Friday, at which time my BIL and SIL move in to that room.

I want to be BDing flat out, our bed squeeks!!!!! (DH is under *very* strict instructions to tighten the bolts *today*!!) AND we have a house full of people!

Oh, for goodness sake! There is someone out there (looks heavenwards) that does *not* want me to conceive a baby naturally!!

And *you lot* can just stop cracking up laughing at my predicament for this cycle.

(mumble grumble ...mumble grumble ...mumble grumble...)

Sorry but it is funny! my friend had the same problem, she moved her duvet and some blankets to the floor of thier room to do the business then just jumped back into bed after!

Maybe you could try piling up some pillows and cushions and doing it on the floor!

Posted By: ginger
Date Posted: 10 January 2007 at 10:47am
I was thinking that the floor might be the way to go but ...oh dear ...I'm going to have to tell another story ... (you've gotta love my stories, don't you? There seems to be one for every occasion)

The thing is, we've tried the floor thing, but then the dogs want to play 'wrestling' too

(Our 2 dogs sleep inside, in our room - this a security thing for me with DH working nights, and me home alone. It wakes me immediately if they get restless about anything).

This one time (no, *not* at band camp!) we were ...you know ...and (TMI comign right up) DH was standing at the side of the bed (our bed is quite high off the ground - it sits about my hip height), and I was sort of braced against the side of the bed (there were visitors in the end room, and it was to try and avoid squeeking by trying a different angle on the bed), and right at a rather crucial time ...

Guess how much I *don't* want to finish this story??

The bigger of our 2 dogs shoved his head up between DH's legs to see what was going on!

Oh, what to do ...what to do ....

Actually, what *was* was the look on DH's face at the time. I can still see it now!

I think you're right too Jess ...desperate times call for desperate measures and all that!

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Now that's seriously dodgy!!!!!!!

I say go for it anyway! Why don't you have an "afternoon nap" and lock the dogs out of the room? The floor is definitely the way!

Do it Ginger! I'd love some more stories like the last one... that was hilarious

I say go ahead and do 'it' anyway and if they raise any eyebrows the next morning - be honest and say your trying to conceive - see what they have to say to that...!!!

We've been in a similar predicament with family staying and having two cats looking on....

Oh and thanks so much for the laugh!

Ginger it's only fair to share stories. We recently moved into a new house and because its 5 bedroom and 2-storey, we decided to board the spare upstairs bedroom out to my brother, who is 20 and single. Our bedroom is at the opposite end of the house and downstairs so I wasn't concerned that he'd hear anything.

Well every time we have BDed (is it still called that when your pg?) since he moved in about two weeks ago, by coincidence he has been out... until one night this week. When I got up the next morning he said to me, "I thought you had gone into labour and you guys had gone to the hospital last night" and you know what I was thinking - *noises!* - but I calmly asked him why, and it turns out he just heard someone moving around and shutting doors! (lol what a relief! )

I agree with the going for it, and if they have anything to say about it just put it to them ..... do they want granchildren/nieces/nephews or not???

Ha ha ginger - great stories!

I wonder if there is something about having people to stay - when we decided to start ttc my fertile time was when we had a friend up to stay. DH emailed him to warn him we were babymaking so would be disappearing at all hours of the day to get onto the job!

Then once he was here we really would just disappear - DH would say something like, oh, I am really sleepy, I need a 'nap'! ha ha ha, I guess it is good that he is close to his mates and doesn't feel embarrassed about it!

Oh GInger, I know your intentions weren't to amuse us but OH MY GOSH thank you for that story!!! I was on here around may 06 asking about trying for a 3rd,so I was snooping around againto see if anyone from back then had got round to trying too. I'm way ready for #3 (have been for a couple of months - so clucky I could lay an egg....) but we are moving to a new house soon and hubby want's to wait a few more months (sob).

Anyway - your dilemma, is it over?? You could try a walk (ugh - hike?) somewhere scenic (dont forget a blanket). The car would be my next option though.

The dilemma has passed, the house is empty again, and (TMI) BDing was managed every day over my fertile days (that every other day thing only counts when you haven't been TTC for forever!)! Here's hoping one of these days something sticks! And now for another 2WW. Deep joy!

The husband is cute - when people ask, he says "the goalie is taking a smoke break, but the striker's aim is off". Bless!

I have to admit to taking a test at the weekend (BFN) because I'd been feeling so strange. Although I had AF as normal, exactly on time, my boobs hadn't stopped hurting and I'd had ongoing 'creaky' cramps without ceasing from AF arriving. I've been horrendously bloated too and feeling generally uncomfortable. I wasn't expecting a result, but it did seem odd. Hopefully with my next AF things will settle again. I think it must be a bit of a hormone imbalance.

*Snort* You never know!

How special would it be to have conceived our first child with MIL, Aunty, SIL, BIL and niece in the next rooms ....

I almost really, really hope we *don't* conceive this month!

I'm in 2 minds over next month - my brother is getting married in October, and I don't know whether to give TTC a miss or not. I'd be loathe to miss his wedding, but, well .....

Ginger I wouldn't worry about that. Even if you do conceive you can't guarantee that it will come at a time that would clash... or that if you conceived in the next three months if the baby would come early. Just go for it! Sounds like you had a lot of fun

Thanks Ginger for sharing your stories with us!!

Our first month of ttc, I had my best friend from Australia call to ask if she could stay with us (family dilemma). Of course she arrived just in time for us to be doing 'it' every second night!! First night we discreetly went to bed 5 minutes apart, the next night she informs us that she is staying at her brothers, 'to give us space' with a wink of the eye!! Little did she know that we weren't going to do 'it' two nights in the row!!! Oh well!!!

Now its nice to make the most of having the house to ourselves!!
