Based on my dates from my last monthly... i should be 8 weeks pregnant this week. Had a scan on Monday 14dec it turns out that i am only 5 weeks pregnant. Having another scan on Christmas eve.. hopefully it is growing well. It feels like i am having to do the risky weeks all over again, as my last pregnancy 3 years ago i miscarried at 6 weeks.

Another thing that is bugging me is... i got a call from my GP and he told me my results from my blood test last week and my blood glucose is elevated to the point indicating that i have diabetes.... although i am overweight i haven't ever had diabetes before and i am at the lowest weight i have been since giving birth to my second child 8 yrs ago.
Whether this diabetes thing has only just come about since being out of hospital this past august with pancreatitis is anything to go by.
It just seems so weird, since i have regular dietitian meetings and a surgeon that still wants to take my gall bladder out early next year (he doesn't know yet i am pregnant) telling me to stay away from sugar and carbs, which i have been doing .... that my blood glucose is high .....weird indeed.

So i am feeling very down, haven't told my partner cos i know what he is gonna say, and he make a fuss over me being down.... i don't know i guess this is just a way to get it out. Like all women on this site who are looking forward to becoming a mother first time or again, i know i am no different to the feeling of a possible loss. im 34yrs and have always wanted to have a son, even had a name picked out for the last 15 yrs.
I am just hoping that i don't miscarry again.

Sorry things aren't going smoothly :( It's possible you are only 5 weeks pregnant as you can always ovulate late in a cycle - hopefully this is the case, or the person doing the scan just put the crosshairs a bit close together. When did you get a positive pregnancy test?

Regarding diabeties, you can get gestational diabeties very easily if there is any tendancy there. Usually metformin helps level things out, and also eating low-carbs/reducing refined carb intake (so cakes/sugary things/drinks/white rice/etc). A blood glucose meter can let you see how each type of food effects you, so which ones are good and which are bad. Type 2 diabetes can develop at any stage - you become more and more insulin resistant over time until you insulin stops working/can't produce enough.

I did a home pregnancy test 2 weeks ago and the test line showed up really quickly, and even when it was confirmed by the GP, the test line was very dark, I assume it indicates that there was a lot of HCG hormone in the urine.
From what the radiologist could define on the scan yesterday, there is a sac shape, not big enough to see anything inside it yet.
I am really hoping this all works out as my partner and I would like to have a kid together before I turn 40.
