Hi all,

My partner and I have decided that we are finally ready to try for a baby

It is a very recent decision, and I only stopped taking my b/c (Ava30) on 26th June and got the withdrawal bleed on Monday (29th). That lasted until Thursday. We baby danced Friday, Saturday and Monday (3rd, 4th, 6th). The weird thing is that I got cramps on one side only on Saturday. It felt very similar to ovulation pains that I've had in the past, but I don't want to get my hopes up or overthink it since it would have been CD6.

Is it possible to ovulate on CD6 after coming off the pill? My cycle was all over the place before b/c, which is why I went on it in the first place.

Any thoughts/experiences on trying for a baby after coming off birth control is much appreciated

Hi Kendall - seems very unlikely.  Always hard to know anything for certain, but it does generally take a while for normal cycles to resume. You'll know when you get your next AF though! (will come 14ish days after ov, unless you get preggers).

I have incredibly irregular cycles (anywhere from 23 - 70 days, normally 40ish), and find that charting my temperature (BBT) really helps with letting me know what part of the cycle I'm in so I know when to expect AF. Might be something you would like to think about? Really easy to take your temperature first thing in the morning, and generally behaves before/after ov nicely (and is random temps when I'm not going to ov for a while/at all).

Hi Mushroom/Stephanie,

I thought so too, but I wanted to ask anyway because my cervix was incredibly high and soft, and I had EWCM for a couple of days. Looks like my body is just playing tricks on me Now counting down the days to AF, so I guess it's just a waiting game now!

I'm definitely considering charting my temperature because my cycle was all over the show at times. Mine was anywhere between 26-38 days. It'll be interesting to see what its like now.
