Been thinking about trying IUI for a while and decided it's time to give it a go, got nothing to loose after all DH and I have been trying for almost 3 years with a mc just over a year ago and cp 6 months ago.
What's your story? Any advice would be great.

Keen to know also kiwilifestyle, we've been on the trying for 2 1/2 years now with nothing, all tests and explorations all normal so very very frustrating, on our 2nd cycle of clomiphene but not looking positive this cycle think we were going to try three cycles then go onto iui ?

Hey girls maybe my story will provide insight. I had 4 iui done through fertility associates using donor sperm as my dh doesn't produce any. Unfortunately none were successful and had to move onto IVF. Mine were all natural cycles meaning they tracked my normal cycle with bloods then did the iui just before I ovulated. This meant daily bloods from day 8 until the surge was detected and a scan at least once during those few days. At the time of my iui the thinking was that the only issue we faced was no sperm so it should've been easy as 1-2-3 but after 2 ivf resulting in 2 CP and a MC it would appear that's not the case!
What kinds of other things would you like to know? Maybe someone out there has a success story for you.

Hi Monkeydee, I was wondering if that's a path we should start on before IUI, my GP said I'm ovulating but then I wonder is it every month. What clinic are you going through? We are going to fertility associates in Hamilton.

Hi babycrazy, can I ask why you chose to do only natural IUI? DH and I have been talking about this today and trying to decide which would be best for us, our thinking is if we use fertility meds with the IUI that it might better our chances.

Hey kiwi we are with the Hamilton FA as well I suggested maybe we try clomiphene for a few cycles and then iui and then ivf if needed, obviously and fingers crossed we don't need all those options. I'm hoping my next cycle is something different from clomiphene it hasn't done me any favours this cycle with making my lining thin, our doc said this could happen so that's why they only let you do a few cycles medicated before you move onto iui? Think this is correct?

I didn't choose that path it was recommended. I guess because we didn't have sperm of our own to work so figured once that was sorted the rest would fall into place. I ovulate like clockwork, have a good luteal phase etc just can't seem to get one to stick. With your history of mc you might be able to do the Colorado protocol alongside ivf. Supposed to support implantation etc. They give you , a steroid and Asprin to take to try and lower your immune system, increase blood flow and so on. There's something else I had to take too but can't remember. Might be worth asking about to help up your chances.

We haven't done iui, but did do clomiphene to start with with no luck. Our dr at FA Auckland suggested not wasting our time or funding on iui but to go straight for ivf as the iui only upped our chances a little bit. Your specialist should be able to recommend what they think is the best route for you though... Good luck with whatever you choose to do x

At this stage we are not looking at ivf as we don't have the money, we don't qualify for public funding.
I was reading the book they give you and was wondering if anyone has gone with the more expensive drug than the clomiphene? Just wondering do they have a better success rate?
What other things were you doing or focusing on before and during iui e.g. food, exercise, weight loss?
