This is the people who don't really want to jump threads all the time. So be that you are NTNP or waiting to OV or in the fun TWW, or trying a small break but want to keep chatting or maybe just waiting to start ttc'ing...
Sometime we get caught up in the whole am I pregnant or not etc and if you are like me testing becomes an addiction, I accidently put my family on the back burner, and you suddenly realise this... You just want to vent about it, but the TWW thread isn't the right place...
Maybe you have questions about ttc'ing but not sure where to ask...
Perhaps you aren't trying but at the same time not preventing but wanna talk anyways...
Maybe you are a board 'whore' and wanna chat anyways :p
THEN YOU HAVE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE!

I'm in! The only board I'm part of at the moment is the TWW, and when you are waiting to OV/dealing with AF, sometimes you need somewhere else to vent!

Great idea fxd!!
I'm still just spotting waiting for AF to finally arrive.
Just spent $70 on babyforyou - TTC can get expensive. I got HPTs, OPKs and blackmores pre conceive tabs. Any tips on how to save $$, I can't be spending that every month!!

My advice is ebay it. pre-seed, hpt and opk are all extremely cheap on there.
I will dig out my links for the cheap digital opk and hpt on there for us :)

Great idea… I'm in. CD10 for us, and on the SMEP plan - so far, so good… Not sure when to start OPK'ing. My cycle seems to be normal - I OV'd CD 14 last month. Earliest ever. I just bought Trademe OPK's… but I've still got a handful of my David ones, so might run them in parallel this cycle.. HPT's I bought from baby4u. I have a digital one in the cupboard reserved for that moment I know I have a BFP LOL. Not using preseed - I hope that's not a 'must have' for SMEP. I am on Vitex though - which is what I took when I conceived my little boy…and it was third time lucky for him, so here's hoping for this month for everyone!

Yeah I start using OPKs about CD10 and tend to get a pos on CD14 or 15.
I did go a little OTT with HPTs last month - I kept getting faint positives, so kept testing to see if they got darker - which they didnt, ended in a chemical pregnancy. My adivce - don;t test til AF is due! Not only will it possibly save some heartbrak, it might just save you some money too!
AFM - 5DPO today. Was a bit slack with the BDing this month - only got 3 in, but all around OV time. Not holding out much hop for this cycle, but it is only our second cycle trying this time round.

My boy is 2yrs 2mths. I'm a photographer so I'm constantly photographing babies and kids .. which is so lovely but a bit heartbreaking as well when you're TTC - especially when I see my little boy cooing over each baby that visits for their session - he thinks babies are awesome heehee…
with my chemical last month I got an early faint positive, and loads of symptoms, and then the symptoms all vanished ….that's when I knew it was heading backwards :( Thankfully it all went back to normal quickly and I guess at least I know the body is geared up okay for getting pregnant - I'm 38 so my age sits at the back of my mind….
I guess I should start the OPK testing :)

hi everyone
So overwhelmed by the decision to try for a baby, i recently got married and have always wanted to be a mum but the urge has become even stronger since getting married (have done the uni thing, the overseas thing, the partying thing) and i cant wait to start TTC. However i find myself thinking no its better to wait, we need a new car, no ill wait we are painting the house, no ill wait until we are more financially sound, no ill wait until.. all sorts of reasons. I decided to come off the pill in october and i went to the doctor to talk about all this baby making and went off for some anti natal bloods… all came back clear, got my prescription for folic acid etc….. and then within two weeks i was back on the pill and have been back on it the last month! Just in case it happens straight away! For all i know i could be trying for 3 6 12+ months…. but then again it could be first time… Im young at 25 so i guess time is on my side (however i know that isn't the case for everyone and i have had a few friends between 25-30 try for longer than 12+ months).
How did people overcome the no ill waits …? Or did you all have everything sorted before you started TTC? AS in you brought the car, you took that holiday, you painted the house and then decided … just seems there is always something coming up!
Ive just finished my packet for the month… am thinking do i stay on it till the end of the year and into the beginning of next or just come off and what will be will be never mind all the things that keep coming up!

With our first one we were broke, unmarried, and about to move islands! But we both wanted a child, and I don't regret a single thing. I was 25 and it took us 3 cycles to get pregnant. This time around we are in a better place financially, but don't own a house, and we could do with a new car..... However, we would dearly love another child, and we don't know how long it will take to get UTD.
What I guess im getting at, is that if you let it, there will always be a reason to not get pregnant. Also, (and I'm not trying to offend you) look inside and see if you are coming up with excuses because you're actually scared. No one will blame you - parenting is a terrifying thought!

Hi Leishamare
Not offended at all…. really appreciate your perspective … and your right i am a wee bit scared !! theres just so much that comes up … but again i agree.. there could be always a reason to not get pregnant. I think i just need to come off contraception and just let things happen … as in not actively try for a while and just see if it happens! Stop over thinking!!! :) Appreciate the response :)

No worries! It's a huge life change
You could do what we call NTNP - Not trying, not preventing. The first time you get AF after coming off the pill, you'll either be relieved or gutted - then you'll know how you really feel about it all!

Hey everyone, I like the idea of this thread, and I am a bit of a thread whore. TWW/Charting/TTC after MC....
Mummys, we are kind of the same as you I am 24, DP is 33. we are not married but bought house in June, also started TTC that month. We talked about it at the start of the year and decided to wait until June to start, we happened to buy a house in that time. we are pretty financially stable so havent worried about things too much. but we are now getting two puppies at christmas and have been spending money on the house and gardening so things are getting a little tight but we are still working through it. I have known my whole life that I have wanted to be a mum, so it wasnt really a decision about if just when and getting DP on board. with the money stuff, we set up an account for baby gear and put an amount into it each week and then we can use it to buy baby gear. because we started this well before TTC we now have most of our stuff that we need for baby so there wont be a push to buy everything at once.
Hope you work out what works for you.

Mummy's I'm the opposite end of the spectrum. I'm 38. Had my first when I was 35. I waited - had the travel, worked overseas, holidays, bought the house, the new car and financially made sure we were solid. I wasn't scared about getting pregnant - it was just right, timing wise for us - and I still have the career now. I only married a couple of years ago though. I was super career focused for a good 10 years. No regrets. We knew we'd wait another couple of years to add to the family - hopefully its not a big wait :) Good luck with your journey - once you're pregnant I find any fears that might be there go out the window. Things just always work out in the end :)

First time I was utd I definitely had a moment or two of 'have I done the right thing' at the very beginning, sadly we mc and now I'm certain about it.
I think in some ways (but on a much larger scale) having a baby is like gettin married or buying a house - it's nerve racking and normal to question whether ur ready or not but once uve made the decision to do it and then actually do it ull wonder y u worried so much to start with.
I remember been told when I was thinkin about buying a house that there's never a perfect time and that there would be other decisions like that in my life that I'll think I can't afford/need to wait till... But I should just do it if I was thinking about it
I hope u can figure it all out mtw

CD11 - SMEP on track ;-) OPK's had slight line yesterday (but they always do don't they??) and partial ferrying with the saliva thingy… Every radar is on the lookout for the egg heehee… Arggghh got an invite to a baby shower - family member too - that's kind of compulsory right? I would know by that time if I was UTD this cycle or not… If I wasn't I think it would be too much for me….

Afternoon ladies, I hope everyone is having a lovely day.
offically CD1 for me today, but at least now I can move on with the next cycle of trying. I ordered supplies from baby4u yesterday, and they arrived this morning!! So quick, so thats got me all excited again ( I love the babydust )
I work with 2 ladies who both got pregnant accidently, and 2 ladies who are going through IVF. Life really just isn't fair sometimes! One of the ladies who got pregnant accidently is having a really difficult pregnancy - even then I'm still so jealous of her being UTD! This journey can be so emotional and consuming sometimes - which is why I find these forums really helpful to vent our frustrations!

Afternoon Ladies
We have been ttc since the beginning of the year and fallen pregnant twice but I can't seem too hold on too them :(.
I have 2 other children who weren't planed so I know its possible but I also had 2 miscarriages before them aswell..
I feel jealous never did before but since my 2 last miscarriages and so wanting this one I feel a little jealous when I find out someone is unexpected pregnant. I wake up every morning and think of the lil angel we have just lost and how far along we would be now..

Hey ladies,
I've been on a break from TTC the last few months due to work/starting a new job (didn't wanna get UTD right away) back into it now! Ovulations still 3+ weeks away, but sooo excited to TTC again! This thread is great, easy and way less stressful than switching between threads (even though I love the forums!)
Those who know me from forums a few months back will know a bit about me - But those who don't, looking forward to chatting and getting to know your stories (even though some are sad) xx
Pitch perfect, SO sorry to hear about your losses, that's absolutely devastating. I've also had two losses this year (one deemed chemical and the other was a baby girl I lost at 19.5 weeks) I feel your heartbreak! Anyway, here's hoping for a lovely Xmas present for us... And all the other ladies who are TTC!! :) All I want for Xmas is two lines :) haha.... Though I am realistic, and realise it probably won't happen just cos I badly want it to! Haha
Great thread :) :) :)

Sorry too hear of your losses Charlie :( but exactly what I keep thinking all I want for xmas is those 2 lines and I'm going buy a test too put under the tree also :)
My AF was due yesterday 12 hours ago spotting/ brown discharge only when wipe. I jumped up and down so excited told hubby yay its all normal we can start ttc again.. This morning my pad was empty ( I've decided I'm going use pads this cycle I wanna see what the witch is doing) and still only brown discharge when I wipe :(...So hoping it starts up soon. Question do I count today the spotting/discharge as CD 1 or wait till the witch starts full force? I so just want too start :)

Hi Pitchperfect and Charly, so sorry for both your losses
Pitch - I found this helpful from fertility friend in knowing when to start CD1 as : 'If you need a pad or tampon and the flow is bright red, record “light flow” even if it is just a small amount. A new cycle will automatically be started for you if this is the first day of your period. If you do not require a pad or tampon and there is just a spot of dark red or brown when you wipe or on your underwear, record this as spotting.'

hiya pitch perfect & charley… I take CD1 as the first of the red flow with my AF
With the cousins that got pregnant - and that's the baby shower I got an invite to - she made special comment that they didn't want to wait till they were as old as me and find they couldn't have children…. LOL … charming… Hence I don't really want to go to the shower and I'd be one of the older ones anyway
Jeez is this cycle dragging or what and I'm not even at TWW yet LOL… Have to take the toddler to the Dr's this morning - daycare conjunctivitis yippee… This kiddo was never sick until he started daycare last month LOL I might have a quick chat to the Dr re our TTC journey and see if we keep going as we are or if she can suggest anything else given my age… I don't think I'm worried this is only the third month… maybe I'll just get some freebie HCG tests heehee
Hope everyone else is well.. I'm heading into a busy weekend, and I guess should come out the other side with a +OV with a bit of luck :)

Our daughter started daycare at 3 months old and has had her fair share of bugs - great for their immune system though!
It can't hurt to mention to your doc that you are TTC, especially if you have a good relationship with her - she might just give you the one piece of advice that gets you a BFP

My 3yr old has been at preschool since 10 months old and has picked up so many bugs but I'm still waiting for him too get chicken pox..I'm lucky I have my own business as I'd hate too think how many sick days I've taken off.
I'm also planning going too the doc and talking about our ttc once af arrives I think its a great idea :)

Hey FxD
I am good. Thats a super cute piccy of your girl!! She is gorgeous. CD8 here today. Got a BD in yesterday which is good because I think today is out.. DP is quite unwell.. hopefully he will be better tomorrow or Tuesday and we can get back into it. I'm feeling pretty good about this cycle, positive but not getting my hopes up too much. first cycle after MC so I kno it could be weird, but next AF will be due day my parents arrive, would be cool if we found out when they are here, but wouldnt want to tell them until we were certain incase of repeat performance... I am still debating if I am going to tell mum about the M/C.
How are you doing?

If you think your mum is going to be supportive then I would tell her, but if you think she wont be then I wouldn't, you don't need the added stress.
I do however love your positive vibes :)
Myself I am doing good, CD10 and probably 12-14 days til ovulation lol This month doesn't worry me if I don't get utd, I just want to get through xmas lol.
I want another piece of my birthday cake but the icing is seriously sweet haha

Thanks. I'm really not sure how mum will be, she can be supportive and not... so it really depends on her mood. I will see how I go, If i get some time with her alone then maybe.. they are only here for two days so will see how we go.

Hey I was just wondering if any1 here has used or has any views/info on using those saliva microscope gadgets for predicting ov? I wonder whether ferning might be harder to recognise than it sounds?

Sorry no clue on the ferning - OPKs are about as scientific as I get!

Bubno1 - I do saliva tests and OPK. You've also got to be really careful that you haven't eaten anything - they recommend doing the test the same time you do your temp - before brushing teeth and breakfast etc… Spotting the fern patterns - partial and full are quite easy - there's a really distinct difference between the two - but it takes a bit of time to get used to it. You can follow guides/pictures online to work out where your test sits… I'm CD15 today. Had partial ferning CD11 & CD 12 and full ferning CD13 (forgot to test yesterday!). I think OV is today/tomorrow. I'm pretty sure I had + OPK yesterday but the new tests aren't what I was used to so I'm not 100% sure. But, with saliva testing as well and knowing a full ferning usually indicates OV in 72hrs, plus eggwhite CM today, I'm probably on track…. Hope that helps… I think Saliva testing is another tool, but OPK's and temping tell you the same thing
We're still on track SMEP :-D CD15 today ….I OV'd early last cycle, I'm usually CD15/16 so fingers crossed today's the day …. I think we'll BD through the week to cover the bases haha

Oxy, I get preseed from baby4you or Life Pharmacy! You only need a fraction of the recommended amount (in my opinion)... And it's not cheap but it's good

Hey everyone, I posted this is the two week weight but I am SO excited!! we just found out our best friends who have been trying for more than 18months are pregnant!! They are being pretty cautious about it. but I am so happy for them. They are about 5 weeks so if my MC had progressed we would have been due within about a week of each other. I am so incredibly happy for them.

I can't decide if we are trying or NTNP. I think we are leaning towards NTNP until after Xmas. I start a new job on 2nd December, and ideally I'd like to not start pregnant - the first few weeks we have 2 events to pull off so it's going to be mega stressful and busy - not ideal in early pregnancy..... However I won't complain if I do get utd!
It's a tricky situation, because I really can't wait to have our second bubba

Leishamaree totally know what you mean... we didnt even know if i should of come of the pill a couple of weeks ago and then we decided to NTNP but now after just having AF weve decided to "TRY" . I thought deciding to try for a baby would be a pretty straightforward decision but boy when really faced with it we've been to and fro to and fro the last 4 months! Finally we have made the decision to just go for it! Understand about the job front though... its not that "ideal" to start a new job already pregnant but hey so many people make it work and as you said you wouldnt complain!
IVe fount these forums super helpful ...so good to have so many like minded people!
Lease - awesome news about your best friends ! thats so nice for them! :)

Thanks mummy's. She had a condition that has made it super hard to get pregnant and now to try and keep it so they are being closely monitored and aren't getting too excited as her condition means she could lose it at any time right up until she delivers

Just say you are finally full-filling that new year resolution!
Lease, I am just finding it hard this month. I don't have opk's since DH accidently threw them out when packing. This is DH 1st farm managers job and is trying to make a good impression so BDing seems out of the question. I am at CD13 and only had sex twice!!! I have FA tomorrow and that doesn't make you feel sexy at all! DD isn't behaving very well atm and makes me stressed. I probably got another 10 days til ovulation so that makes me pissed off haha.
I just don't feel like I can do this
