This post is for those who have tried for a boy or a girl
what methods did you try and did it work..?

I have 2 boys and this pregnancy is a girl.
For the boys - both were conceived pretty much on ovulation day.

So was this baby - and i thought it would be a boy too but its a girl..
I can put it down to two things
a) my husbands diet changed to highly alkaline
b) conception occured on the 2nd time within a short space - i have heard of the method where to get a girl you get partner to 'dump' the first loto of sperm and then try with the 2nd lot which is meant to be a higher ratio of girl to boy...

just wanting to see who has tried and if there is validity to all the methods you read up on on the net

Hi not sure if your still tracking this thread, but I wanted a girl first time rounds and followed the shettles method and it worked first time we got a girl. The first month we tried we had sex 5 day before ovulation and did not get pregnant, next month 4 days before ovulation and we were pregnant. the female sperm survive longer than the male sperm so if you have sex prior to ovulation the female sperm will keep going they are slower but survive longer, whereas if you want a boy they recommend day of ovulation and male sperm have short lives but swim fast. So for a girl sex before ovulation for a boy sex day of ovulation. That's what I stick to anyway. It worked and I know that it worked for 2 of my friends to.
