Hey chaps Just wondering how much you pay for childcare - what's normal - $10 an hour, $15? Just trying to get a handle on what's reasonable. Thanks |

Thanks for your reply. Greenlane One Tree Hill area. So is that 6 hours a day - excuse my ignorance but what constitutes a full day? |

Full time is considered greater than 5 hours at our daycare. 5 hours is part time and costs slightly less. I imagine your area would cost similar to mine. I think that Porse / Bernadoes and Stems (in home carers) charge between 8 and 15 per hour out this way. | Wow, that's a good price TeacherLady - I'm not sure Auckland folk would get such a good deal, I think the cheapest full time daycare I've found is like $400 and that didn't include lunches or anything. I get the impression that closer to $600 is about right for full time daycare. |

So is full-time 9 or 10 hours a day or 5 hours a day. I'd need drop off around 7.30, 8.00 and pick up around 5.30, 6.00? Thanks |

| The hours you want are full days, so the cost depends on how many full days you want. Cos im in a similar position. The cost is more for under 2's due to the higher teacher to child ratio and then when they turn 3 you get the 20 hours free/subsided. Like I'm looking at 4-5 full days for an under 2, one place is $220 for 4 full days and $250 for 5. Another is $260 for 4 or 5 full days. There's another that's $205 for 5 full days but the facilities and what's provided is much less than the other 2. |
