Gee, I hope I do!
Everything was looking good, LMP started on 11 Oct and I had put my foot down also with full concentration on conceiving. It was all full steam ahead until AF (I am assuming it was AF) arrived on 26 Oct, but only for about 4 days and fairly light...grrrr!
Here we go again

Your lucky your MS hasnt started yet because mine seems to have hit with full force
Iv been hanging out in the june thread as there doesnt seem to be very many of us in july but at least there is a few of us
Where abouts are you from???...i see Australia in your side bar is that right???
Your very patient to have not gone to the doctor yet i was right there the very next day lol - me and my paranoia! lol and iv even got a midwife already! hehehe although i dont see her until 9 weeks which is the 5th dec glad i did though because she is apparently the best and i am the last lady that she is taking on for the year so lucky i got in early!
Do you have midwives in Aussie or GPs???....noticed after talking with a friend from aussie that she seems to talk about a "GP" rather than a midwife???....

Welcome Claire and Congrats!
Baysmum I'm from NZ I moved to Oz two years ago, I have been working as a nanny but that job finishes next month. I'll be coming home for Xmas for a month, yay!
I'm going to go try to see a doctor this morning, I'm still trying to get my medicare card that you need over here for free care. I'm not sure how it all works over here but I think you do go to your GP not a midwife.

Hi Claire,
The calender thingys are called tickers and you just click on any you like and itl take you to a different sight then you can make up your own ticker then theyl ask you if you want the code and you pick the one that has URL in it and copy and paste it into your signature bar which is under your profile page at the top right hand corner of this page
Hope that helps and its not too confussing feel free to ask more if you get stuck
Hope all is well with you and your pregnancy
Hi kristalsjoys,
Where abouts in NZ were you from???
Wow it all sounds really comfussing with the way they do things over there!
but it all has the same result at the end ay! - a baby!
Hi haleighsmum,
hehehe your allowed to be nosey as i have been sitting in the june thread for a while! lol
Well i had my scan today and we saw the little beany babys heartbeat and it seems to be growing and doing really well so we are over the moon!!

Hows all the July Mums to be??
My Doctors visit was very interesting...I asked the Doctor to confirm that I'm pregnant and the first thing he said was "is it wanted" how rude! No blood test just a urine test and "yep it's defantly positive"
He has given me the name of a woman doctor, I'll probably do shared care with her and the hospital. I've got an appointment with her on Monday so hopefully shes nice
Amber I'm from the North Island, 3 hours from Auckland.
It must have been so nice to see the heart beating, I wonder when I will have a scan.
I got my Medicare Card sorted out, so now I can get free care here and won't have to go back to NZ to live. That was stressing me out so I'm glad I finally got it!
Take care everyone, rest up and don't forget to put your sunscreen on (It was 38 degrees here on wed!)

Hi everyone
Im 8 weeks now and I dont have a belly yet......although I have one anyway so I'll be interested to see when my tummy gets noticeably pregnant. I havent put on any weight yet, Im so pleased as I really dont want to blow up like a balloon, however it is early days so I have to be careful.
Congratulations Skyelar - Im due on the 5th. So exciting huh!
kristalsjoys - that is such a horible reaction from your dr. definitely dont go back there!
I got my midwife arranged the other day and see her next Tuesday. i cant wait.
Im in Wellington too - does anyone know about the Kenepuru Hospital? I hear they have a new maternity unit, so I may have to go and check it out as it would be handy
Best get back to work ......I hope my preggy belly show soon!

I am very paranoid, more than I was with Haleigh.
I think it's more becuase I know more people who have MC in the last month or 2 lately.
I'm getting close to that 12 week mark roll on 12wks I say.
I got heartburn today for the first time, argh it was painfull, with Haleigh I didnt get it till I was a bit further on.
So bubs may have a full head of hair

Yeah me too Amber, I had a mc in June...so now I'm freaked out something is going to happen, I'm also rh- so I'm worrying about baby's blood and all that.
As hard as it is I'm trying to relax cos I know me stressing can't be good for the baby...easier said than done!

I'm rh- too. I'm just very thankful that we live in a time where everything that can possibly be done for the health of our babies and ourselves is available to us.
50 years ago the anti-d injection that you get when you're rh- wasn't available and babies and mothers possibly wouldn't survive!
I've been stressing a bit lately too, from different things I've read on the internet, so when I feel tense and paranoid I turn my computer off and listen to music instead.

I also had a MC in june this year i had one a few years before my son also and i was 14 weeks so im not going to feel safe for a long time!!!
Hi Haleighsmum,

rh- is when your blood type is O negative or AB negative rather than O positive or AB Or A positive.
80% of mothers are rh+.
Just means that if the father is rh+, then the baby will probably be rh+ too and if the blood gets mixed, rh- women start making something called Anti-D, which is an antibody that will attack rh+ blood cells.
So in the future, when you have more babies, your anti-d will attack the new baby's red blood cells while you're pregnant.
So we get an injection after birth.
I think that's it. I got a pamphlet from the midwife cause I'ma need one of those injections.
|
Posted By: MyMinis
Date Posted: 05 December 2006 at 2:38pm
o ok, I am obviously rh+ lol. I dont even remeber my blood type, I guess I'll find out once I find my pregnancy notes from my last pregnancy.
I do remember hearing about AntiD, thanks for that.

yeah I jsut go by my babygaga ticker, I have a humor one and a serious one lol.
Well if it means another girl DF will be disappointed Baysmum
I was told carrying high was a boy, and carrying low and in the hips and bum was a girl, and I havent gained any weight on my hips and bum liek I did with HAleigh.

Hey ladies sorry to butt in im RH- and i had Ella worrying about that but u have tests at the beginning of your pregnancy and if there are any concerns they work with you. Ella ended up being A- like me so i didnt need the jab.
Claire - I had Ella at Kenepuru and LOVED it was so private and personal. I know a few people who have had babies at Wgtn tho.

I heard babies heartbeat at my 8wk scan, but I guess the thingy they use on your belly doesnt really hear much till 12wks.
Im having this bubs in Hutt, mainly because its only down the road, but form what DF has just told me we might have a place in Kandallah so I may have to switch midiwfes and go to Wellington Hospital??
I love hospitals, the only thing with epidurals is you cant feel any contractions what so ever, it was fine for me after my long as labour and with the OB using forceps, but they kept telling me to push and I couldnt tell if I was pushing or not.
But OMG was it good, and instant painrelief for me.

I'm butting in here too...
I'm O - and Willie is A + and all 3 of my girls are A+ like him. It just meant that I had to have the anti D after delivery , and also as a precaution after each episode of bleeding during my pregnancy with the twins.
Skyela what your midwife probably means with the cord blood is that when Mum is Rh - they take a sample of bubs cord blood and send it for testing to check bubs blood type, and then if it is Rh+ they give you the Anti D. It's completely separate from the cord blood they keep if you decide to go with cord blood banking for future stem cell use.

I going home to NZ on Sat for a month, can't wait but still need to pack...keep putting it off!
I won't be here when I'm meant to have my 12 week scan so I miss out...at least I've got the 18 week one to look forward to.
Hope all the other July mums to be are feeling good and m/s isn't too bad...
Take care x

the 12 wk scan isnt important, its more for mothers piece of mind than anything else.
If you are young you have a very low risk of having any problems with baby anyway.
I did one when I was pregnant with Haleigh I was 21 (just before my 22 bday) and my risk was so low.
I havent done it this time, Im going to wait till Im 20wks to have the next one, thats the main one Im looking forward to
Hope you enjoy oyur holiday

Lower Hutt hospital is great! I loved being there.. I did share a room, but only with one person, not 5 like at Wellington.. I moved to town half way through my pregnancy but decided to travel back to the hutt so I could give birth at Lower Hutt and keep my midwife who I loved.. unfortunately I haven't heard very positive things about Wgtn hospital overcrowed, nurses don't give you much attention, they try to kick you out as soon as possible.. who knows, it could have changed in a few years but that's what I heard from mothers who gave birth there.

just lucky Im giving birht in Lower Hutt then.
i dont think i would change my midwife, she's lovely. DF is expecting ehr to be exactly like our last midwife in Motueka, but I tild him shes different so he's got the 100 Q's for her lol, I think it'll be hard to beat our last one she was awesome.
In Nelson we had seperate rooms, we only shared a bathroom with one other. I didnt realise Hutt was shared rooms. HEres hoping I have a nice person to share with then

Hi Ladies. I just want to introduce myself and say Hi. I'm due on July 17th but we will have a 12 year gap. We've had our first visit with the midwife (so much has changed) and are having our 12 week scan today.

just butting in here :-p Hutt hospital has 2 shared wards and the rest are single rooms but you share the bathroom with the neighbour. The 12wk scan (sometimes earlier) is a dating scan to find out your EDD and also to rule out eptopic & miscarriage. Hope all you ladies are feeling better today... Fingers crossed everyone's morning sickness settles down

Hi All,
Well Bombshell i spoke to soon as the rain has set in and its cold again so now im enjoying laxing back and being lazy!
My food adversions and morning sickness were well and truely gone by this time when i was pregnant with Bay and just like when i was pregnant with Bay im actually starting to loose weight rather than gain now! I loose and gain weight really easy! and iv lost 6kgs in the past few weeks from only being able to eat small amounts of fruit and veges, mainly fruit now and my food adversions is slowly crossing things off the list and salad/veges has just become one of those!
But bubs is healthy and measuring slightly ahead of my dates (just a bigger bubs as im dead certain of my conception dates! ).
Anyway i hope all of the ladies here are doing great

My dates were ahead of whet I had worked out. Im certain Im not due till my date but the scanner was certain it was the 23 June

Hello all, I haven't been on here for AGES. Well I'm 14 weeks now and have had 2 scans which was great to see my wee bub grow and change. I have had terrible m/s and wonder whether it will ever go away. Just today been sick 3 times! Yuck! I have lost 2 kilos from my pre-pregnancy weight because of my food adversions, but bubs is growing somehow, so I guess thats something! I have a belly now, although no one can tell until I show them. Hope you other ladies are fairing better than me...!

Hi guys,
Its usually the 20 week scan when people find out, but they say you can tell from about 18 weeks.
My morning sickness has finally gone.I thought I was showing but really I just look really fat! I cant wait to pop out properly so I really look pregnant!

Any time between 18-20 weeks is the best time to have a full anatomy scan to check for any abnormalities as earlier than 18 weeks bubs organs etc. are too small to assess. But they can pick gender from around 16+ weeks. I found out that I was having girls at 17 weeks with the twins because I had a fortnightly growth scan then, and the nhad the full anatomy done at 19 weeks.

it's so exciting reading all of your posts, but also scary to think that it was a whole year ago us July mummies 06 were going through the exact same thing!
Being "ready to pop" in winter is ok - no worries about being too hot (well for me anyways)
