Hi,

We are expecting first baby in Jan!
Any mums in Hamilton? Or anyone know of any antenatal groups on Hamilton ?

In an unusual situation as we are moving to Hamilton in November for a year due to my husbands work.
I really want to meet other new mums as I really don't want to be isolated with new baby in a new place where I don't know anyone!
I will be in my third trimester when we arrive in Hamilton, so a bit worried about "gate crashing" a coffee/antenatal group.

Any advice would be really appreciated !

Hi
We moved from Chch 18 months ago. I have two boys 21months n 6 months
I'm in a few different coffee groups n stuff you'd be welcome to join us when you move.
I know how isolating it can be moving away with your first
Do you know what area you'll be moving to?

Hi ally cat

Thanks for your reply! That great I would love to join a coffee group when baby arrives. We are moving until nov and are just there for 12 months for my husbands work so we will rent for the year so not sure where about a exactly although think we like the looks of some of the outer suburbs like rototuna or flagstaff and there seem to be some decent rentals there. Still doing my research on that one however.
Do u like Hamilton so far?

We are in rototuna. It's a nice area and lots of nice houses up here. We were in 5 x rds but got broken into and was a bad area which we didn't realise when we moved.
Cool where are you moving from?
Umm it's alright. I've met some really nice people here but I really miss my family and friends. Find it quite hard not having my family around when I need help and stuff as my husbands family that live in Hamilton don't really help much and I don't like asking.

We live in Rototuna and its lovely. Lots of nice kindy's, playgroups, swimming lessons etc. I love it. Im sure you'll have a great time here for a year. Chapel Hill kindy and playgroup are great. My 4 year old DS goes to that kindy and we attend the playgroup once a week too.
You won't regret moving to Rototuna or Flagstaff, they are very safe and nice areas. Just make sure your house you rent has heating! It gets cold here in winter and some rentals don't have heating.

Thanks ladies.
Sounds like that northern area is the place to live. I'm actually really looking forward to the move. Just a quick question, are there any train tracks near by in these areas? We once rented a very lovely new house without looking over the fence where a freight train went by and shook the house at all hours of the night! Really want to avoid that again.
I can't see any on the map.
Thanks ladies

Hi, definitely no railway lines in rototuna or flagstaff. Good luck with your move.

Df agree rototuna is a really nice area! I go to Horsham downs mainly music n Tuesday which is awesome really well organised group and
I've been going to a few groups that Eastside church run which are really friendly!
The Horsham downs groups is the only one I know about in the rototuna area.
Eastside is about a 6 minute drive from the new world block of shops.
