Evening all, my first post here. Im 27 and my husband is 25.

In 2008 I fell pregnant to the " love of my life" who was actually cheating on me with multiple others, i misscarried and also found out I had clymida, had it treated straight away.

My partner has had an ingural hernia since he was 18. Doesnt give him any pain but has slowly increased in the last 3 years.

We have been ttc for 7 months now, given our history should we go get tested? I saw doctor last month as I was concerned but he said given our ages wait 13 months.

Patiently waiting.

Sorry to hear about the cheater, that's so heartbreaking. What an asshole to put it bluntly.

Most doctors will tell you to wait 12 months given your age. If you have a really nice doctor and asked them to do the simple tests that don't involve invasive measures they might be willing. If you explained you really need the peace of mind? That's a long shot though >.<

Or you could start charting, this will give you an idea if your luteal phase is regular. If you come up with any abnormalities then at least you'd be able to go back to the doctor and show them.

Are you taking any prenatals?

Otherwise it's perfectly normal to be trying this long with no pregnancy yet, so you could hang in there until 12 months and hopefully you'll get pregnant and the worries will all wash away

Hi Michelle,
I totally agree with Nel - do some charting. Then when 12 months is up you have information to work with. I think we left it too long just hoping it would happy as I have a daughter already but 3 years on still nothing, having said that all the tests we have had show no issues - right pain!
Charting will help you know your body better and some prenatals might help too

Thanks Ladies, the desperation is sometimes just overwhelming and seeing AF is such a reality check! Charting will do! Also read to cut out all caffeine which I'll do if this month not successful. Boobs a bit sore which is normal 4 days before AF.

I'm just concerned maybe the clymidia reduced my fertility.. And we didn't treat it quick enough. I dunno guess just looking for answers.

So blessed to have stumbled along this site.

Hi.
Does your doctor know about the past infection? I can totally understand your worries. Especially since having such a hard time in the past (cheaters make me so mad!).
Agree with whats been said above. If you have no joy with the doctor testing any sooner then make sure you get onto it right at the 12mth mark.
Hopefully you don't even get to that point and are blessed with a pregnancy before.
All the very best :)

I say start the testing with in the next month or 2 due to your history. Because of the clamydia I think you can't afford to wait much longer. You've already had it for a number of years. Good luck!
