My sons currently 13 and a half weeks old. From 3 weeks old he's been on formula due to me having problems with my supply. He was on a formula that made him extremely spilly and wanting to feed every 2hours so after seeing plunket she suggested trying nuture care gold for hungrier and restless babies which he's been awesome on, he was just starting to completely drink his 150ml bottles every 3 hours so started to offer 200mls. From 2-3 weeks ago he's started to drink a lot less as in it can be 6hours between bottles (night time feeds) and he will only drink 80mls, 110mls it's really inconsistent (this is the same with his day feeds but he has them every 3-4 hours when he's hungry for them). I don't think he's dropped weight and the dr said he seems happy enough but should I be worried or does anyone have any tips on how to get him to feed more? I just keep thinking there may be something wrong an I want to make sure his little tummys full!

He could have been going through a growth spurt when he was drinking more, it makes babies really hungry! They usually have a growth spurt at around 12 weeks. Babies don't drink the same each feed and if he's leaving some in the bottle (and the doctor/plunket nurse says he's growing well) then he's getting enough. Isn't it nerve-wracking trying to figure out what is going on with little babies?

200ml is quite a big bottle, that's about the max I've seen any baby drink at any age.

If hes putting on weight and is happy I wouldn't worry too much. the only suggestions I have is stopping for a break, a kick, change, whatever then trying again to get more in. Sometimes walking around with them can help distract them enough to drink more
