Has anyone used probiotics for a young baby before? Or via mum if breastfeeding?
Trying to figure out what's unsettling my nearly 4month old since birth, seems to be gut/bowel related (we think?). He was on antibiotics for 48hours after being born (precautionary measure after rapid breathing) and I'm wondering if perhaps these may have upset the balance in his tummy? He also developed thrush in this early weeks, presumably from the antibiotics. TMI, his bowels were always very explosive and since cutting out dairy for me they're less so, but quite watery overall.
Would be grateful to hear any stories if anyone has tried using probiotics

I use them with my girls a lot but only started them when they were established on solids so can't offer any advice for a 4 month, sorry.
I would highly recommend an osteo though.

Hi. I started adding probiotic powder to my baby's bottle since she was around two months old and she's perfectly fine. I don't see that you can do any harm by trying!
Good luck!

I was the same as puepletulip..gave my boy something called BabyBiotics - a powder that can be mixed into milk from a young age...we still use it for him now (at almost 2.5 years) if it looks like he might be getting a cold or if there is a bug going around daycare...it's been great would recommend probiotics definitely

Fergus is finishing up probiotics that I add to his bottle once a day. The osteopath recommended them when Ferg was 3 weeks old just to help things (he had hiccups heaps, spewing up.. blah blah).
A combination of this, the osteopath, and a change in formula and he is all good now though.
I agree with Danda- try an osteopath?

Yep just mix the required amount with cooled boiled water. I think Greer was to have 1/4 teaspoon twice a day? If you go see an osteo they'll tell you how much to give.

We used babybiotics since my son was 3 weeks old. It helped with his digestion almost immediately. He was crying all the time and arching his back. Now 3 weeks later he is a completely different baby

I use probiotics with both children, one via bfing (Reuteri). They def. helped my DS with his gut problems (I started giving them to him at 1 yr old) whether it's co-incidence or not I don't know, but after starting probiotics his tummy pains lessened, he started sleeping better and his bowel motions became less liquidy/smelly. I think it is certainly worth a try
