This thread is for people who want or need to lose weight to help them get pregnant. We can support each other here and hopefully our weight loss will result in BFPs.

Good luck everyone

I'll start off. I have been told ot lose about 7kg (atleast) as I am having trouble getting pregnant. So far i have lost 0.5kg but I am not sure how long my motivation will continue. I really want to get a BFP and am getting impatient.

Good luck everyone

Hi blonide23

I'll jump into this thread :)

Im hoping to lose at least 8kg before we get pregnant again. I need to lose a lot more once we have baby #2 and for a while I wanted to lose it before b#2 but ds2 is nearly 3 and we are both ready for the next one.

I'm playing netball this season and doing an extra training every week and I've been looking into starting Crossfit.

I've got all the weightwatchers books etc and might be going to my first meeting tomorrow.

Welcome sweets. What's crossfit? Good luck in losing weight. How long do you think it will take you to lose the weight?

I go to the gym 3-4 times a week and use wii fit plus. I used to use weight watchers but I am trying my fitness pal which is free and online. It counts calories but is basically the same principal as WW.

Hey Blondie

This is crossfit on you tube http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTTP8gsJPd0 - http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTTP8gsJPd0

If you could see me, you'd probably be wondering how I could do that but set your limit to your ability and aside from the extra weight I'm generally pretty fit and active. I'm starting in a few weeks with a guy from work who wants to lose weight too.

I would like to lose the 8kg in a couple of months, maybe a little sooner if I put more effort in.

Your exercise sounds great, what gym do you go to?  I have used my fitness pal as well and its awesome. I haven't tried meetings before, to be honest I've been to embarrassed to go but my cousin is in training to become a leader and she has convinced me to give it a go.

What timeframe are you looking at?

Goodluck to you as well

Thanks for the link I couldn't open it on my iPhone so I'll try it later on the computer.
I go to snap fitness because it's cheap and is open when I want it to.
I hope to lose my weight by the end of term 3 so 10 weeks. (I'm a teacher )

Good luck at your meetings I found them quite good but their are too many parents at my one now.

Haha blondie, that is funny & inconvienient.

We went to the lunch time meeting today, I was all nervous and excited, just to find out that they no longer have a lunch time meeting!! We were gutted. We both can't make it after work due to children and sport comittments so our only other option is to go at 9.30am on a Tues/Thurs and that is during work time so we'd have to suss something out there.

There aren't many gyms to choose from up here, but cheap and open at the right time sounds good to me.

I bought chicken breast, lean pork and snitchel today and divided them up into 100gram portions to help out with making quick and easy dinners etc. Need to get something for flavour though, I'm not very good with that.

Wondering if I should just jump on my fitness pal again and not worry about WW...

I just went to the doctor to request a sperm count test for DH and possibly BT for me. He has given us the details for the sperm count but said he wants to wait for a few more months before doing BT on me. He wants to see if my cycles will naturally become regular. He said that I certainly need to lose weight and not drink caffine (FA nurse told me the same thing). So it's wait to see what the test results, keep trying and lose weight.
Sweets I have added you on my fitness pal.

Hi Radar! Welcome. How much weight do you need to lose?

From what I have read/seen of shakes, infact any type of replacement diet the weight always seems to come back plus more!

Hi guys,

We have been trying for number to for a while now-off BC since April last year and properly trying since September, think loosing some weight will likely help. Want to loose 10kg but will keep TTC while loosing weight. Went to zumba tonight and it was very funny and a great work out, don't know if I'll be able to keep going though due to lack of babysitters.

My little one starts kindy soon and I won't be working those 2 mornings so should be able to do some exercise in that time-am so excited about that!

Hello, I've been lurking lol.

I have serious weight to lose though, and really dont know when we will start trying for number two. Probably not til next year, so that gives me a good 5 months to get the ball rolling.

Am going to follow WW but wont be attending meetings...cant justify the cost!....even though it is for my health.

Hi Mumma2one and ooEvaoo, welcome and good luck :)

Mumma2one that is great you will be able to have a couple of mornings for exercise. I find its just to cold to get the push chair out at the moment but wondering if I just need to wrap DS1 up extra well and just get out there for 30 mins a day. I have a nearly 3 year old as well

ooEvaoo I know how you feel, I actually have quite a few kgs to lose as well and for the past year have wanted to drop 20-30kg before we try for number 2 but I have decided to just try for number 2 while losing weight and then lose it all afterward. We can be your weekly WW meeting 8-)

Blondie, can't believe I didn't figure out BT hehe. Are you still waiting to hear back about those?

Posted By: Radar
Date Posted: 12 July 2012 at 9:58am
Im the same as you sweets - really need to drop at least 15 kilos - but ultimately need to lose close to 30kg - YIKES

Posted By: sweets
Date Posted: 12 July 2012 at 10:46am

It is daunting isn't it Radar, we will get there I'm sure.

This might sound stupid but I found out that aparently now if you get pregnant and your BMI is over 40 you have to go to the hospital for extra check ups with an OB.

So that is why I want to lose at least 8 kg because (yes this is a little embarassing) that will mean my BMI will be 39.

I've decided, if I did get pregnant now (BMI over 40) I'll try and find a MW that won't find my weight an issue. I was -4kg at the beginning of my last pregnany and everything was fine.

My MW for my first pregnancy wasn't supportive at all of my weight - even saying this makes me think that you all are imagining a 150kg woman haha - I'm not even 'that' big. Clothes wise I am a 18-20 and I'm not very short so I don't look humoungous but I just weigh heaps so I can see why she should be concerned - but she made me feel really bad about myself and looking back, I should never have gone with her.

So next pregnany, I'm going to find a MW that I feel comfortable with and I am going to state from the beginning what I am expecting. For all the first time mothers reading this, I urge you to do the same - even switch part way if your not feeling like it's going well. I sure wish I did.

Hi mums!

I am not sure if I can give help on this post. I actually loosing weight right now. I have 3 & 1.8 yo kidz. And just started realizing that I need to get back to my old size. To fit with my old jeans as I'm back to work full time.

Since I am not able to go to the gym, all I can do is some stretch up every morning. And I'm just taking up shakes to replace my 2 regular meals. And its really going well.

Cheers!

Hi everyone, I'm going to join in too

I am 102.5kg, started losing weight at 109kg and have a goal weight of 65kg (my current goal is 100kg)

I used to go to WW - I found it GREAT, but then sadly my leader was forced into an early retirement, and then WW started closing clubs on the east side of Christchurch so I do it online now.

I do Zumba twice a week, walk 5km twice a week at least, and also try to ski once a week.

I am cutting out refined sugars, processed food, takeaways, and I have quite smoking about 3 months ago. I don't really drink

We have had some trouble TTC (13 months now) so I am on Progesterone pessaries (starting at ov this cycle) thyroxin, pregnancy multivit, vitex, high dose folic acid, iron, and a vitamin 6 complex.

Cannot wait for some of this horrid weight to start falling off again - it has been a long 7 months and only 6.5kg is a little depressing

Hi Minty fresh and welcome. Awsome work so far, Skiing once a week is so cool! Cant do that up here in Northland that is for sure :)

Blondie23, well done!! That is an awesome loss.

I didn't weigh this morning but I didn't really put in any effort last week so this week is hopefully a goer. I do need to confess. I woke up this morning at 5am absolutly starving and ended up dropping DP off at work and getting myself some maccas. The other alternitive was cooking chicken, broccoli and potato which is what I woke up thinking about. Weirdo!

PS welcome lightning8

PPS - Weve decided to start trying this coming month (waiting for AF to start) but I'm still going to try and lose weight all the meanwhile

Posted By: ooEvaoo
Date Posted: 17 July 2012 at 11:47pm
So my focus is to get under 100kg....and then I' won't mind if we get preggers, and i'll just keep the weight loss going (well hopefully if the body co-operates!) for how ever long it takes. So 13.8kg to go!

This week has been hard for me as I'm working quite long hours and not getting time to eat lunch and needing to get takeaways for dinner.

Hope it gets better.

Oh gosh, same same! We have had takeaways twice this week, but I had good intentions for the rest if the week.

Good luck with the rest of your week :)

I generally work long hours every week, and this week I also had an application for a different position, organizing a work baby shower (and related knitting) to contend with. I am so tired, and worried that the ski season is going to be a short one.

Zumba was great tonight though, and I think I have found a new WW meeting to join.

Hello ladies :) If I could just jump in here.

My partner and I have been together just over 6 years now and for the last two we have been trying for a baby.

I am over weight and have joined gym's, bought zumba, eat well and still, no good results in my efforts. My neighbour is a great influence with excercise and that I am greatful.

I have been to my DR several times and main issue is my weight. I have enquired about endometriosis etc but I don't have it. Also my menstral cycle can be absolutely mental some months causing me concern. My partner is willing to get a sperm test done to make sure it's not him. And believe me when I say he is not that type of man but will do it to help us get our goal.

I know it's no excuse but I have seen larger ladies than myself easily fall pregnant and I always wonder if I am just not meant to be a mother. I adore kids, have worked along side them and always put my hand up for babysitting for friends.

If there is any-one out here that can give me other options as to what else can help that is "low cost" I would truely be forever greatful. xxoo

Hi all! And hi amour,

In addition to your zumba or any exercise you can try also the one im taking right now. I'm taking two formula shakes to replace my 2 regular meals and 3 times multivitamins. Obviously one of the great factor for us to lose weight is to reduce the food we are taking, and replace it with minerals and vitamins.

The program im taking is not expensive less than $4 per meal cheaper than my regular meal :). You can pm me if you want to know more about it. They are actually giving free samples to start with. So that you'll know if this gonna work for you or not. :)

I bloat really easily - some days I'll have a flatter tummy than others and when I am bloated I look 6 months pregnant. Any ideas why anyone?

Gosh I been MIA...which is typical of me! Anywhos have spent the past week off work with a sick son....and sick me. Am also home again today...luckily I can do work from home...some parts anyway.

Anywhos I've decided that I really miss.....the domestic life! I mean I enjoy my work and that, but I miss being able to spend the morning cleaning around the house, hanging out with my son, and not having to frantically clean and cook and do the afternoon and bedtime routine when I get home after work or try and do a rush job in the morning!

So I figured....the sooner I lose weight.....the sooner I'll feel ok with getting pregnant....the sooner I can try and get pregnant..the sooner I'll be pregnant..the sooner I go on maternity leave.

A good thing is that my partner has now decided he wants to do something about his weight as well which is good. So today my goal is to schedule my exercise for the next two weeks.

Hey, I know this is totally not a healthy approach at all, but I'm quite overweight, we got UTD with DD with me being only slightly lighter than I am now ... but haven't been able to get UTD as easy this time around.

I'm seriously thinking of using Optifast to drop some weight. Has anyone tried this?

Because I am heavy 10kg would make an awesome difference, to be at the lower end of my BMI I need to loose around 35kg.

I do know how to loose weight the proper way, I've done it before, since my MC earlier in the year I've been eating myself stupid, I've put on 7kgs

Good luck everyone

I put on 15kg and most of that was put on in the first trimester because of MS And then in the last trimester a lot of my gain was also fluid retention. 7 weeks after birth I am now 3kg off my pre preg weight I read somewhere that 12 - 18kg is the normal range.

If you can keep active and avoid comfort eating (definitely harder for me during the pandemic) you can definitely lose weight even during your pregnancy.

The recommended 150 minutes a week of moderate exercise (or 75 minutes of more intense exercise) definitely helps. That's a couple of walks or online cardio / Zumba / HIIT classes a week.

Yoga helped me lose my weight a lot faster.

Yoga burns calories when done the right way.

If you are serious about losing weight and getting fit, you might want to implement a 60-minute power yoga and/or vinyasa flow practice at least five to six days per week.

https://yogaweightloss365.com/" rel="nofollow - This yoga weight loss program was easy to follow and worked for me during my pregnancy when I started gaining too much weight.

Each class is easy to follow, but is varied and enjoyable. Dynamic Sequencing means you'll always be challenged regardless of your current level.

If you want to follow my example, think about coupling your practice with a whole foods diet for optimal results.

Good luck!

Mandy
