Hi all

What kind of timeframe is to be expected between rolling in both directions and sitting??

Sometimes son gets his arm in the wrong position when he rolls so i have to rescue him but as my daughter didnt roll at this age i cant remember how long it took her to sit?

Karen

I don't really think there is...it'll happen when it happens. They need to develop a fair bit physically to be able to support their spine in a sitting position.

rescuing is a pain but there are so many muscles that still need to develop.

If baby is not sat up by you (this is bad for their spine) and left to do it on their own they will crawl first and then sit themselves up from crawling position.

By this stage they have all the skills they need to move in and out of a sitting position with ease, and wont fall on to their precious head, they will also sit properly on their bum bones rather than slumped on the bottom of their spine

Both my kids started rolling at 4 months. However they only started sitting when they were crawling so 8 months +
