Have you ever noticed the huge amount of clutter you carry when you have children? you go from having a tidy ordered life to stuff everywhere, and as your children grow and move from one stage to the next there seems to be a continual supply of stuff that we need to get rid of.

I have found a great way to dispose of that clutter! there is a new website called AskShareGive or www.asksharegive.org.nz It is a nationwide not-for-profit website where you can list your unwanted gear to give away! you can also request stuff (and reclutter!)for the next stage your children are going through.

When you are having a clean out you might find goods that you consider are not worth selling on, or maybe you can't be bothered to sell them - In this case using AskShareGive is a great alternative. People collect things from you so no need to clutter your house with paper and parcel tape (as if you were selling it on Trademe), nor to clutter the car by loading it all in there to take somewhere, just let the person know what day you are home, leave outside the front door, (if you don't feel like meeting anyone) and its quickly and quietly removed from you before you get sentimental and change your mind.

However if you are highly sentimental about something and are only just able to part with it; you can choose someone to give it to, could be someone that promises to love it like you did, a community organisation or something.

I am currently decluttering my shed using this system and I can't tell you the relief I am feeling. I am a horder from way back! My goods are going to hand picked individuals who are so grateful!

No I am not promoting it - its a free site for anyone to go and look at at any time, I was simply excited to find something that worked for me and like to share resources!!! with a gararge thats been loaded with junk for years I now have a home to send stuff to, even a broken down microwave! Come on Hopes - try a different forum if it offends.

Ok, if you genuinely aren't behind the site itself, I'll admit that as much as you sounded like an owner trying to give it free publicity, you were just a satisfied customer.

But as for trying a different forum, honey, back off. If it hurts your feeling that I might suspect you of advertising for extolling the amazingness of some random website onyour first post, you've got some toughening up to do.

I am feeling a bit bad now. If you are just some random person who found the OhBaby site, and thought 'hey, I know this great website, I can really contribute here', it would be a bit stink to be welcomed to the boards by being accused of being a business manager trying to get free publicity. It's just that some businesses (usually the low-budget ones without much sense of ethics) do and have tried that in the past. And as they don't usually tend to make an effort to contribute and become a member of the community, it's usually their first post. Your post did come across a little that way.

So let me try again. Hi. Welcome. We're all nice friendly people, honestly

Haha Good on you Hopes! I did think the same myself & was going to report the post. This is not a place to advertise your business! Otherwise I'd be drumming up business myself you can link your business website via the WWW down the bottom of each post.

PS I love freecycle...I got a free coffee maker cause I was johnny on the spot! Although I wish I had a taker for my CRT monitor! I don't care if people are on selling, I just don't want that stuff in my house!
