I'd probably book for just after AF in case they were wanting to do bloods to check for ovulation :)

Personally I would just ring and make the apointment - they usually have a wait of about a month to get an appointment, and will send you loads of forms for bloods and tests to have prior to your appointment (at least thats what they do in Hamilton).
They will also send you for a smear and STD tests as well. Good luck!

Yey they seem to send the tests with the confimation in the post - the great thing about this is there is no delay in starting any treatment after the appointment, just wait for your next cycle and go for it! Good luck xxx

Do the tests get done at local doctors ie smear? Or are they done thru clinic? I dont really have a doctor as never need to go so just wondering if i will need to sort out a doc.

Hey Mumma2be, the clinic will send out forms for you to get all your tests done. Usually a nurse does the smear and tests etc, but I guess you would still need to register with a Dr, or it may pay to so you aren't paying higher fees all the time? Good luck.

As Lou said they just send it out for you to arrange... if you don't have a doctor and don't want to arrange one, maybe try your local family planning office.

If you don't mind sharing what is your journey so far?

Thanks for all the info, we had our first child no problems, not planned but we were happy. It was a case of one uncareful night, first time we hadnt really been careful so i guess we werent totally avoiding it. 2 years post birth decided we were ready to try again and that was over a year ago. My cycles dont seem to be great but as we never charted etc before #1 i have no idea if this has always been the case. So now im wanting to just get on with it and self refer to get some answers but its all new to us :-)
