I took Elevit with all 3 of my pregnancies. Pricey and not really a requirement if you eat healthy.
Folic acid I would say is the most important, and best to take before you start trying.

I ran up the nurse at my GP clinic and said I was ttc and would like a presciption for folic acid and iodine. Cost $3 for 3 months. Elevit is $45 a month but also has iron and other vitamins in it too. Its the folic acid and idodine that are recommended for all preg women and ideally taken 3 months prior to preg also.

I posted this in a hurry on my phone - what I ment was:
"Who is still trying to conceive (so not actually pregnant) and taking a prenatal vitamin?"
I've heard it recommended constantly that you should be taking something while ttc, but wondered if anyone actually did.

I took folic acid and iodine from the Dr for 6 months while ttc,...then gave up cos I was sick of still taking it and not being preg yet,....started taking them again when I got my bfp 2 months after that!

I never really took anything until after 12mths when I started seeing a natural fertility specialist who prescribe a crazy amount of pills to take. The doctor also gave me a script for folic acid. I try to take the pills every day like i'm supposed but slip up from time to time.
From what I gather Folic acid is the most important one to be taking and if I wasn't dealing with a specialist / was on a budget then that is all I'd take....my theory is plenty of people get UTD without anything and do just fine.
Like Kellz above said if able to get it through the doctor its cheap as chips for heaps.
Good Luck
