My children will be 2 and nearly 4 when we take them to Auckland in October.
Will the 2yr old be able to have his own seat on the plane?
And what do people recocmend we take on the plane for the trip?

TIA

I am pretty sure that once they are two they have to have their own seat.

As for what to take - lots of snacks Especially lolly pops ( great for ears on the way down) things in little packets (even of you are a mean mummy like me and don't usually let your kids have them )

Some colouring books and pencils (cheap ones as you might misplace a few) or sticker books. Books to read. If you have a smart phone or tablet - get some kid friendly apps - totally saved us when we took ours to Fiji aged 4 1/2 and nearly 3.

2 years olds get their own seat, you pay for it.

My boys (7 and 4) were given MP3 players for christmas and they had them on the plane when we flew to Oz.

Yep 2 yr olds have to pay for a seat.
Its only an hour or so to fly up from the sth island, so they will be fine at that age. Just take a snack and a lollipop (or juice/milk carton with straw)for on the way down to help with their ears, and some pencils/note pad or something to play with (I take hot wheels cars for my son on flights and a my little pony or similar for my daughter).
