Hi there,

Can anyone recommend a modern cloth nappy that might suit my son? He is 3 months old, but is a big boy and has chubby thighs. We're using prefolds & covers at the moment. I recently had to go up a size to get them to fit around his thighs but I find them quite bulky, especially between the legs.

Would a OSFA nappy be best? Can I adjust the leg size separately from the waist size?

Thanks!!

I have the Itti Bitti Tutto - a OSFM nappy, the legs get bigger as you snap less front snaps, and the snaps around the waist are completely seperate.

Are you able to get your hands on a hire kit? I did have the BabyLuv OSFM but am selling them as they are bulky between the legs... my boy is 10w and is already wearing the Tuttos on the Medium setting... even though he's not 6kg yet (but has chubby as thighs!)

I tried and didn't like the Tuttos so am very glad I didn't fork out for them! My DD is a big girl weight/height wise and I love the Babyland nappies. You can get them on TM for about $70 for 10 nappies and they are OSFM.

Another one who did not find the itti bitti tuttos any good. But i have a slim boy.

We are loving happy Happy Heinys as a one size fits most nappy. They are not cheap but Mother's Instinct have buy 3 and get 1 free at the moment.

Ecobubs pockets are good for chubby thighs.

I wouldn't say tutto woul be good my friend and my sister have quite long chubby boys and they both can't use them even though they fitted before. One isn't even 6 months yet and they dont' do up anymore.

Prefolds are great but I can imagine the bulkyness.

You could try just a standard Itti bitti. A medium SIO would work. I think that large itti bitti seem to fit bigger children better than tutto would. LIke my 3.5 year old can still fit a large but not a tutto. He's average in size though.

Hope this helps.

Edited to add: Duh you were looking at OSFA. Any decent OSFA pocket would work, but they are bulky. Bubblebutt nappies. LOL I know lots of people swear by pop ins. They are very trim, but I can't mange to get mine not to leak.
Maybe look at nappy days.co.nz they have a few OSFA and they are brilliant.

Thank you! I've arranged to borrow a few from a friend to try. Was thinking a OSFA would be good if I could adjust the legs to fit his chubby thighs, but keeping the waist slimmer. But then I'm not keen on the extra bulk...

Thanks heaps :)
