We are only on day 3, we had a few wee accidents day 1, only 1 little wee accident on day 2, then on day 3 he had a poo accident.
The poo accident has really knocked his confidence. He's gone from running around and visiting the potty often, to taking the potty with him everywhere. I mean we are only in the lounge and he takes the potty to the coffee table to sit on while playing with his cars. He goes to play with his little brother, 1m away and takes his potty with him to sit on. He won't eat dinner, because that's sitting at the table - not on the potty.
Any suggestions?

at day 3, my only thought is that you are likely to be doing this with him for a month or two yet, so brace yourself and treat it like a rollercoaster of good days and bad days. Just keep on with the praise, be matter of fact, don't make a big deal of the accidents and pile on the bribery if needed.
He might get there on day 7 and surprise you, he may take longer. If he wants to take the potty with him then i don't really see the problem, he is probably just worried about being surprised again. As he practises more he will relax again.
IMHO the hard time comes after a couple of weeks when the novelty wears off....

we are a few days in here too, and this morning she had a poos accident on the farm and then a wees accident when she fell asleep in the pram with no nappy on. She was inconsolable after the pram incident and begged for a nappy. I let her have one seeing as I needed to go to the bank anyway, and took it off (still dry) when we got home an hour later. Her next wee was in the loo and she's happy as a clam again. If he needs the added security, let him have it, i think
