My DS is 19 months. He has always has fairly loose poos, but probably the last couple of weeks they are really runny, kind of like porridge consistency and big volume. He can poo two or three times a day and often it requires a clothing change as well as it goes everywhere. He loves fruit and veges and I always thought he was loose because of that. He is a big eater and is happy in every other way. I am at the end of my tether with these poos though.Do you think it's normal or should I take him to the doctor? Any suggestions on what I can feed him to bung him up?

Are you on tank or bore water?
When my daughter had loose movements once the doc wanted a sample - apparently it's the first thing they check as we're all on tank water.
I'd probably get him checked out. Could just be a tummy bug.
As for bunging up, bananas might help, and bread, I think!

My girl was like that too since she loves fruit and I used to give it to her all the time. very regular and porridge consistency.
Cutting back on fruit and upping the grains made a big difference for her

My boy had this right up until a few months ago. I thought he would never have decent solid poos! But he just started to. NOt sure why, but perhaps it is just a time thing

Well had very little fruit over the weekend, lots of bananas, bread, cheese etc, and this morning he exploded out of his nappy, and down his legs. This is not right am off to doctor this arvo. Dreading it tho, whatever it is he will not be allowed at daycare once it is diagnosed and I have a full on week at work leading up to xmas. God knows how I'm going to manage!

He could possibly have a mild intolerance to something & over the weekend you've gone over his tolerance level. Or maybe something in the water has affected him but not you??

Didnt really say...I guess it's just maybe Alex being a baby is more susceptible than me, In general I have an iron constitution, takes a major to get me sick. Only me and Alex drink the water so no one else to get sick!

Well the poo sample came back negative for everything, so I'm back to sqaure one.I guess I'll just have to cut out certain foods and see if it makes a difference. Have had enough though, am resorting to disposables until he firms up, I cannot stomach washing any more disgusting nappies.

I feel for you, we had hideous Nappies from birth through to about 2 1/2 when I finally nailed everything down.

So Kel,what was the cause of your childs problem?
Generally most days are pretty bad, alhtough in saying that today he's only pood once at daycare and they said it was not too bad. Will be interesting to see how he goes over xmas, with all the different foods.
Really cant think of what might have set it off. I basically feed the same things most days, but I guess you can develop a food allergy at any stage, even when you eat something regularly.
