Hey

I have a 9month old boy who has had a chesty cough for a week now. His big sister had the same not long ago and doc said it was a virus and there was nothing she could take to get rid of it faster.
He has been waking during the night with it, must have stuff running down the back of his throat. I have raised his mattress up so its on a lean which hasn't done anything. Also have been putting vicks on his feet and no difference.
Anyone have any ideas on what I could do for him or give him. We haven't had a proper sleep in a week and he is waking up tired.

Thanks Carrie

Try squirting saline up his nose before bed. It'll loosen the snot and help it come out. Ds has been the same the last few nights and the saline helps a lot. You canmaje your own , I just put a teaspoon of sat in a large glass and fill up with boiling water. Make sure you cool it though before using

have a crock pot on in his room with hot water and some eucalyptus oil and/or vicks. Works well for clearing the nose and stopping coughing

I have just put some claming oil in hot water down next to his cot, haven't heard him cough since I put him down an hour ago! So must be helping him. Had a very broken sleep last night so he is knackered.

Karvol is great. It's a decongestant and also helps dry up the mucos. Usually in the baby aisle at the supermarket
