Has anyone random stranger ever done something nice for you - and do you pay it forward?
When I had DD some friends joined together and sent me groceries and stuff. And here when I was pregnant with DS and he wouldnt turn some of the VBAC thread ladies got me Bowen therapy appointments

I failed a WOF and found an awesome mechanic who was not only the cheapest quote I found but did a small repair for free. It's nothing major but enough to restore faith - so I quickly referred someone else I know to him and will be back (not too soon I hope!!).

When DH and I were in the states out for a nice dinner with my sister and her husband a couple who knew them also dining at the restaurant paid for our entire dinner!!! We didn't know until we asked for the bill!
It was really nice, my sister and husband had a terminally sick baby and everyone knew they were going through a challenging time and it was such a nice simple gesture.
I would like to be like those people one day. Do an extraordinary gesture like that. I'm trying to think of the biggest act of kindness I've ever done..... I will have to get back to you on that!

It doesn't even need to be anything that takes much expense / effort. I've had a good run lately. We got a photo done of Jacob recently in Auckland and I'd arranged to get it couriered down to us, and the lady didn't charge me. And I had a super-fast one-question-and-I'm-done Drs appointment and my Dr didn't charge me for it. I also made a silly (and potentially messy) mistake at work the other day and a chap in another department a) picked it up and let me know so I could fix it and b) was really nice about it.
As far as random acts of kindness go myself, I'm rather tempted to leave a Warehouse voucher in a family down the road's letterbox round Christmas. I walk past there every day and the work they've put in on the place (which was a tip when they bought it) is beyond amazing, all done themselves as far as I can see over the weekends. They've got about five kids (unless some are regular visitors!) and they just seem that damn adorable and hardworking even for kids, you always see the older ones playing with the baby.

Yep, before we moved to NZ we gave my cheap car to a friends family who had no car.
When the girls were born we were gifted 2 carseats, from a family member. We've passed those on to people who we know will benefit from it.
Most of the clothes/toys that the girls had for the first few years were gifted to us (very lucky considering all our family are overseas), so most of the stuff we've passed onto Salvation Army Shops or donated to the MB club.

Just today someone was nice to us! We were in the mall and DD ran up and climbed on one of those ride on things. I told her I'm sorry but I don't have any coins on me, and an oder couple walking past heard it and the man asked me how much it costs. I said $2 so he pulled out a $2 coin and paid for DD's ride she was so happy hehe, and I was too as it shows there are genuinely some nice people around
Must tell DH that actually as he often takes DD on those rides and lets other kids hop on it too, so he'll be pleased she was the one who got a free ride this time hehe
