Hi
Can anyone suggest a healthyish, yummy ready made meal service in Christchurch?
A friend who lives in ChCh has a very sick baby in ChCh hospital NICU, and is likely to be there for some time. A group of us are going to buy her some vouchers for ready made meals, but none of us live down that way so don't know any companies to use.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the suggestion, we've looked into that but unfortunately there isn't a branch in Christchurch yet.

Does she have any older children at pre-school or school? We have a mum at school with a sick child & have been asked to do baking & meals for the family.
If not you can always ask the hospital, they have social workers that help out families or at least can put you in touch with some one.
Other help maybe WINS??? or saltation army?

Thanks for the suggestions jazzy.
It's her first baby.
Money isn't a problem ( I wonder if that's what you meant by the WINZ and Sallies suggestion), it's just that they spend so much time at the hospital - the last thing they will want to do is cook so we wanted to be able to provide a way that they can have nutritious meals in the freezer to heat up rather than eating takeaways etc.

How about these people - http://www.eat.co.nz/ - Eat . They're Wellington based but deliver chill-packed nationwide. Not cheap, but they look good!

I am happy to help out if I can? I would happily make something for them, even if it was just some baking to have. Message me andybex@clear.net.nz if you need my help.

Same here! I'm more than happy to help. I have had a couple of close friends go through the same thing so I understand how important the little things are in these situations. Maybe I could make a few things up and you and your friends could all sign a card with some flowers. I'd be more than happy to deliver it all on your behalf. Free of charge of course

I'm sure I remember going past a place on the bus on Colombo St that says something about meals to go or something like that. Will see if I can find out some more.
Same as the above girls tho, can help out if needed

Hi
My MIL has been really sick recently (recovering from a stroke) so hasn't been able to cook like she usually does. She found great takeaway meals from Traiteur in Merivale.
Here is the website: http://www.traiteur.co.nz/takeaway-meals/ - Traiteur
She said they are healthy, delicious and they deliver too. Might be what you are after?
