my little girl has still got green poos. never really has gone to yellow. kinda like a med-dark green with vinergarish smell. Dr or lactation consultant not worried about it. bubba not worried either. fully BF with only just introducing solids since last week.... just wondering if anyone else's baby has this?  strange how i long to see yellow in my babys nappies lol

DS went through a lot a changes in the colour and texture of his poos, a lot of greeny coloured ones, but thinking now, that could well have been due to a dairy intolerance that we didn't work out until he was 5months old. I would say that as long as it is normal for her than I wouldn't worry.

DS had green poo for ages, was often explosive too- was told only to worry if it was frothy. I found out it could be caused by too much of the fore milk, so started bf him from only 1 side each 3 hr period,...so just feeding from one breast, and if he was hungry again, feeding him off that same breast if it was within 3-4 hrs from the first feed from that breast,..then after that doing the same with the other breast- worked for us!

I'm surprised your lactation consultant wasn't bothered about it. Green poo is generally a sign that the baby is getting too much foremilk and not enough hind milk. Do you switch breasts during feeding? I had a terrible over supply and it wasn't until I block fed (I don't recommend this without the advice of your lactation consultant) that the issue was resolved. Feed on one boob until your baby takes herself off and then switch sides, don't put a time limit on each boob and hopefully that means that she'll get both the fore and hind milk from the boob you've fed her on rather than the hind milk from two boobs which is then replaced in time for her next feed meaning she doesn't get the hind milk then either.

perhaps its something to do with your diet too? we went to an osteo when our boy had bad wind and turns out it was wheat, peas and pork in my diet that upset his wee tummy. Worth a thought?

i only feed off one side each time so she is getting hind milk and fore milk. I think cause addie is so content and putting on weight etc and is healthy is more of the reason why she is not worried. yep i got told could be a lactose intoleracy, so might give it a go :)  dont have that much dairy etc anyways but always worth it

I'm dairy free because DS is currently intollerant. It isn't too difficult but milk products are in so many things. He stopped the green poo and was much happier once I went dairy free.

Dairy upset my wee girl too and tests have now shown she is intollerant currently. We are dairy free - milk is now rice milk, butter is now olivani, soy cheese, etc.

Re green poos, ours were too much fore milk and not enough hind milk even though she was gaining weight like milk was going out of fashion iygwim! Because DD was gaining weight and height beyond well they weren't too concerned but we were feeding on demand and still managed to feed on demand just offered one side longer before switching.
