DD is 5 months now and on a few small solids a day (piece of apple to suck etc..) otherwise fully BF.. Since she was little she's always been spilly but this is getting ridiculous! She spews sooo much! Pretty much after every feed and sometimes, just cos!

Its driving me insane and I feel like every time someone wants to cuddle her or I take her anywhere I feel bad cos they'll probly get a fountain of spew :( She's around 8kgs so shes a healthy little thing (rolls for days!) and never seems to have problems with wind or has any pain with the spewing.. its just.. ALL THE TIME.

Any ideas? Anyone relate?

I remember wondering the same thing with Jacob. Trouble is, I can't remember when it DID stop! But he's just over a year now, and it has... I would think perhaps at seven months? Maybe a bit later? But not too long, anyway!

Yeah my youngest was like that, spilled ALL the time but not upset about it a.k.a a 'happy chucker'. We went through so many of those old style flat cloth nappies. We had 3 doz and still managed to run out a few times!

We noticed some improvement around the 5 month mark but it was probably somewhere between 10-12months before he stopped completely. Hang in there!

My girlfriends DS would spill ALOT all of the time! He was a happy chappy though and thriving. He stopped around 10 months. Apparently it is to do with the valve at the top of the stomach and in some babies it is just a bit weaker but it gets stronger and can do it's job as the baby gets older.
To catch spills I am using some great bibs for my DS - they hold a quarter of a cup of liquid! They are those Mum2Mum bibs and I got mine from Farmers. They have a waterproof backing on them as well.

I did some research on this with DD1. Apparently around 90% of babies stop around 9 months. My DD has mostly stopped now, it's just an occassional thing (she's nearly 2). She definitely kept it up in a big way until around 15 months or so though. You just get used to it I'm afraid

DD has always been a mega vomiter too. Like you, I felt bad giving her to someone else to hold . However, I was just saying today that she seems to have almost stopped - and that would have been in the last week or so. She still spills up occasionally, but not five times straight after every feed like it was. No real reason that I can see, just a bit older!

On the flip side - Mr 1 year and 1 day still spews most days - have in fact just change his bed again - usual nightly ritual. So no idea sorry hun - but if you find out - let me know!!

Sorry, my boy was still spilling at least once a day at a year old. Even now at 19 months we get the odd one

My oldest grew out of it earlier though, at about 7-8 months I think.

yeah we also had a "happy chucker" here
DD stopped pretty much bang on 9 mths. It gradually got less as she got older.
Get what you mean about being frustrated.........the washing!!! I had to put bibs on her all the time to preserve her clothes which I hated..........couldn't trust her on the floor at other peoples places so always on a old cloth nappy or blanket, constantly cleaning our carpet..........the list goes on.
But never fear there is light at the end of the tunnel and she will grow out of it

Thanks for the insight ladies, I guess I'll just keep 'chucking' along.. (see what I did there?! haha sorry I'm tired). Yeah we have a million cloth nappies too, those things are great, my mum unearthed my borthers (just turned 14!) and napisaned and posted them to me haha.
She doesnt seem to bad with getting it on her clothes (excpet if shes in the jolly jumper then its like its raining!) but she can be MIGHTY projectile... I have 2 showers a day cos by the end I'm covered in spew. Lucky we have a leather couch or I dont think I would want to sit on it anymore >.<
She's fine in bed and even on the floor unless she's on her tum but she you sit her up.. urgh!

Just wondering if you've considered a food intolerance at all? My DS is dairy intolerant and has reflux and until we got him off dairy he puked constantly. After every feed, in between feeds, all the time, had stains all over the floor. Just something to consider. My paed did say it's a concern when they puke as often as my baby did.

ETA my DS is nearly 1 and even now dairy free and reflux meds he's still spilling, so I'm not sure lol

leather couch's are awesome for this situation!!!  I remember sitting there on my leather couch thanking god it was leather and just not knowing what to do as I was sitting in a pool of spew and had no towels or anything handy....not even DH!!!

DD did a stunner today, was feeding her in the car at Armageddon and she super puked everywhere... on her, on me.. on the carseat, best part was the massive puddle that went between my legs, soaked into my jean shorts and made me look like I'd peed myself. Lucky it was hot so I dried quick!! Walking around with spew soaked undies though? not cool!

Had to laugh in hindsight but man! I talked to one of the organisers previously about how there weren't parents rooms.. she said I could use the Gold VIP room if I wanted, I'm glad I didnt now with that little puke show! sheesh!
