I was wondering how to dry my breast milk up. i dont just want to stop as i dont wana get mastitis or blocked ducts.
but i keep getting quite sick. had a cold for a couple of weeks and constantly getting headaches.
i drink plenty of water about 5-6 750ml bottles of water a day.
i feel really bad for my little man. but hes been really unsettled and since ive been giving him top ups of formula hes more settled.

there is a product called Milk stop you can buy from the pharmacy which will help dry your milk up if thats that you decide is best for you and your family

Otherwise you could look at taking some multivitamins to help boost your immune system and make you feel a bit better. I could ask at a health shop and see if there is anything that can recommend.

you need to do it gradually, either keep feeding your bub less and less until it is gone, or pump. If you pump, only ever remove the smallest amount you can until you feel comfortable.
I took sage tea when I had a mega over-supply and that helped heaps, so worth a try too.

I've heard advise of not dropping more than one feed a week, so if you wanted to stop, just replace one more feed each week with formula. Not sure how old your baby is though - I think that advice was more for babies 6months plus?

I just starting dropping feeds so eventually i was only doing 1 feed a day then i dropped that. Still had build up for a day or so but then it went away.
