Hi All
I've been seeing an ad on TV for a reality show on Sky called 'One Born Every Minute' that's been 'coming soon' for ages and I've just seen that it starts next Sunday night.
'It's a BAFTA award winning documentary series about day-to-day life in the bustling Princess Anne maternity ward in Southampton uses 40 fixed remotely-operated cameras filming 24 hours a day to capture the beginning of life as it really happens.'
It looks really interesting so just wanted to share the link in case anyone wants to book it, below is the link to the times and more about the show

I watched part of 'Strange Pregnancies' too BecBarrer such a funny name for a show - saw the 55 yr old who carried triplets for her daughter so pleased it had a happy ending, amazing.
Saw ad for 'one Born every minute too' love being able to preses that green button when the ad on all set to record now
I saw a program ages ago (maybe this show was on before and I saw the first part) where the baby grew and survived out of the uterus.. The fertilised egg traveled out (who new this was even possible!) implanted in the only place it could possibly be viable think it was outside of the uterus somewhere. Throughout the pregnancy she was in heaps of pain cos baby was growing mixed up with bowel! She was in and out of hospital due to the pain but they could find no cause until was til near the end they discovered baby not where it should be. Was a one in a billion thing that the baby should survive.

I had a wonderful strait forward pregnancy and birth. But sometimes I freak out hearing scary stories and think oooh I'm gonna worry so much more when baby #2 is n the way! Wonder if I should watch this...

Thanks for that Mrs Emma, have series linked it. I loved 'from here to maternity' too but they only seemed to play the same season over and over

You can watch both US and UK versions of One Born Every Minute at eztvstream.com - i've worked my way through every episode and am thoroughly addicted! Luckily the one on Vibe seems to be a different season.

Who watched one born every minute? I myskyed it and just watched it, can't get over what a loser the lady having her 4th baby husband was. The father was being such a dick (who tries to lock a lady having contractions in the loo as a joke?)I was thinking it a bit odd that she had her 18 yr old son there but the son was actually more useful and mature.
Sad for the blonde lady with the babies tummy all outside, hope all works out okay, she did crack me up saying how she worries already whos going to look after him when hes 70.

jules1980 I SO agree with that Husband and was going to find this again and say the same thing!! I would have been mighty unhappy with DH if he was blowing up a rubber glove and flicking me with it during contractions! I also thought it was a bit strange having her son there but you're right, he was far more helpful, mature and compassionate than her Husband.
That poor girl, I really felt for her with the hole in her baby's tummy. I hope they carry on with that story next week

I just watched it today too.
Hate to say this but I found the husband to be hilarious. Obviously they know how she labours and kept to her plan (must've been a no touching plan, not even with a blown up rubber glove) and I guess lightening the mood didn't get her too angry so must have also been what she was expecting.
If it was my husband though, he'd be dead by now because my looks can kill.
And yes, I loved hearing the 22 year old with her worries about her yet-to-be born son and whether or not his children will take care of him when he's old (if only all mothers, young or old, were like that).
Found the staff bits a bit pointless because I could hardly hear what they were saying.

hehe I found him funny too! obviously they have that kind of relationship as she didn't get upset by it and it made her laugh a few times.
not my DH though! would have killed him :-)
was the first time I have watched anything like that. Found it really interesting to watch the staff as I'd never really thought about it being there job before. A monumental moment in a womens life but just another baby for them. (thought they were lovely, just very matter of fact, but then if you see a baby born every minute and your job is to help get them out, it would be a bit like that huh?)
I still get all gooey when I think about or see a baby being born

I myskyed it and just watching it now. I am only 10 mins in and i already want to punch that husband in the face. They must have an excellent relationship for the wife to put up with him taking the micky out of her when she has contractions!

I just watched it now. I was crying for both of the Mums!
I know that feeling of not being able to push anymore, and I also know the feeling of being terrified about a c-section!
Loving that there is a programme that shows it like it is.. I certainly had NO idea before going in.
In saying that, it will probably scare the sh*t out of anyone who is pregnant with their first!
Definitely on series link!
Oh, and that husband needed a slap! Can't believe he was laughing at her while she was contracting!
