Jacob's had a nasty case of nappy rash for the last few days, and his poos have been really smelly, so I've been creaming him up with zinc cream which seems to help. But today he's started passing this weird clear-creamy jelly-like stuff that reeks to high heaven. His last dirty nappy only had a trace of actual poo and huge globs of the stuff. Apart from having an obviously sore bottom, he seems very happy and healthy and is eating like a horse, so I'm not particularly worried, but has anyone else had anything like this? I'm a bit weirded out by it!

Might be a tummy-bug. The last time Jude had something like that was when he had a tummy-bug - the time before that though it was Campylobacter. But if your boy is a happy dude, I don't think it would be Campy - that's a nasty bug

The jelly stuff is gross though. Am guessing it is something like the mucous that lines the intestines and passages (as the diarrhoea would be stripping it off the sides?). Just a guess.

When Zoe had a cold and was swallowing heaps of snot/gunk she got lots of mucus in her nappies. I dont think your body can break it down so it just goes straight through. I hope it clears up soon and he stays happy for you!
