Anyone done this? Going to addresses where no-one is enrolled to vote and getting them to enroll?
There is a job for this advertised in my town I could do mostly in weekends and evenings with DH looking after the kids for some extra cash before Christmas.
Its says payment is by contract though -
"Work is on a performance contract basis and remuneration is by way of successful completion and return of new or updated enrolment forms. Hours of work are flexible, however some weekend and evening work may be necessary to achieve best results. "
Anyone done this did you fid it was worth the time spent, just thinking you could spend alot of time out visiting and not get many forms back if people really can't be bothered.
eta ah dammit hate that I put ei instead of ie in the post and you can't edit headings....

Naughty naughty Bowie
Still be interested to hear if anyone has done it before. I've heard that doing the census pays quite well and wondering if its similar payment doing the electoral roll.

sorry, i had to run when doing the above post. I just moved thats why mine is out of wack but the letters will go to my mom so no harm? Anyway - i think the census pays well because everyone HAS to do it. I think you should do it - at the very worst you will get some exercise and kid free time, and the best you'll be able to afford the biggest ham in town. Also would you mind telling me where you saw the ad if you decide not to do it? I might apply, i could do it on weekends with Maxyboo in the pram i think. Only if you dont go for it i would hate to nick your job!

I don't know if you would get that much fitness, unless heaps of people in one street were not enrolled, says you need transport.
"As an Electoral Fieldworker you will be provided with a list of addresses where no one is currently enrolled. You will visit these addresses and give the residents the opportunity to enrol or update their enrolment details.
You will also be requested to attend events by manning a stall or roaming in and around the venue inviting people to enrol as an elector."
They need more than one person by the looks of the add so feel free to apply. Maybe you could do it with Max if not getting paid an hourly rate it shouldn't matter so much should you need to stop and feed or change him.
I saw it on trademe jobs today and just realised it closes at 3 today also eek. Think I will email CV in and hopefully get the opportunity to find out more about it and see what happens.
