was just coming on to ask about this (kind of)
We are trying for number three, havent been on anything since my last baby was born, still exclusively breastfeeding but AF did come back in April (?) and bar being late once, has been regular but Im still not pregnant!!!
Im definately ovulating, and its only taken 2 months to concieve both my girls so Im getting a bit miffed now

Can my cycle appear regular - but Im not fertile / can breastfeeding still affect my fertility??

and at what point is ok to ask for help?

I know its naff all compared to how long many woman are waiting and have waited to fall pregnant and I feel a bit of a fraud to be concerned, but I am

Oooh RaspberryJam :stalk stalk: exciting
Ok well I was having a look round fertilityfriend and I did notice a high level of charts that looked really good with BDing etc all right and everything looked (to my rather inexperienced eye) like they should have been a BFP but they weren't and all the charts that looked like had had breastfeeding on them so maybe that is something there?? I BF'd Tyler til 8 months, we used no contraceptive just were abit more careful round fertile patches and nada but I stopped BFing him and BFP (then MC). Not that thhat will help overly since you can't really go cold turkey on BFing but it might set your mind as ease abit. Are you charting? Do you know when you're oving? I don't think its naff seriously the first month trying with Ty and I was full stressing like I'd been trying for a year though I actually ended up with a BFP straight away. Its the whole baby drive its just natural.
HTH anyway xox

Sorry Kelz I think i hijacked your thread - re regualr cycles - to be honest Id say everyone is different - depending on Breastfeeding, what your cycles were liek before hand etc, but it does seem a few women I know have taken a couple of cycles to get back into the swing of things. Ist AF was a killer!!!

Lol Babe - stalk away!! hope its not for too much longer
Yeah I cant stop feeding my wee chubba, boobies are here favourite thing in the whole world. I guess if thats the issue I will just have to suck it up ('scuse the pun)
The other thing is i have PCOS - clearly hasnt affected me so far but wondered if now that Im older (34) my luck is starting to dwindle ?

dont worry RJ, the thread is for people like us who have already had a child as there is quite a few for a first timers.

Me- stopped breast feeding about a month ago when E was 8 months, done a prg test incase was neg, which is good for now, this morning have a (TMI) a lil brownish dishcharge. so Af pretty much round corner i think.

RJ- i think BF can effect ov but depends how much your feeding i think. can makeit go either way, I have heard u are more likely to concieve twins while BF

Thought i'd join in here. We're going to start TTC #3 in December. Can't wait!

Sorry Raspberryjam i can't really help. I would think BF could still affect it but i don't really know much about that sort of thing. Good luck!

Well, I was worried about bf affecting fertility, but decided that I wasn't going to stop 'just in case' it was - my af returned at 6mths post birth, I finally weaned when she was over 2yrs, but weaning didn't make a difference (in fact, for me, it seemed to have a negative effect - I went from ovulating to not ovulating - but I don't think thats normal).

I have decided that it doesn't matter if you are ttc for 1mth or 10yrs, it still hits hard - its just that the longer you are ttc, the more time you have to evaluate your attitude!

Oh, by the way, I am ttc #2.

We are TTC #3. This is my second month so hopefully FXx we'll be UTD.

But last month I'm sure we did everything right and nothing.

I got UTD with DS 2nd month, bf him for 6 weeks then had AF back regular from 7 weeks.
With DD I got UTD on first month, bf her for 16 months got AF back when she was 6 months and its been between 26-32 days.

So we'll see.

Hey guys,

We are going to start TTC soon, at the moment we aren't preventing and haven't really since DS was bout 12weeks old. I only stopped BF a month ago, but I'm pretty sure I haven't been OVulating, although my last 2 cycles were regular but really long 40day cycles. So I've decided to start charting again CD 15 today and no signs of ovulation.

Oh and I will be TTC number 4. I have 3 boys aged 11, 8 and 11 months, and no I'm not trying for a girl although would be an added bonus

Hi ladies, we are now day 2 of TTC#2! We wee planning on starting in Jan but we have a wedding to attend in Ireland June/July 2013 so figured if we started in Jan and it took 6 months to get UTD like it didwith DD1 then we would have a baby only a few months old when we go on our trip! Hence why we are starting a few months early. Really hoping it happens earlier rather than later cause then we will have a bub closer to 12 months old when we go to Ireland
We are, however, getting married in 10wks time so hopefully if I do get UTD straight away, I don't get nasty morning (all day!) sickness like I did with my last pregnancy! That could get embarrassing on the day!

Good luck to all you ladies and I hope you all get BFP's soon!!!

*Lurker* I haven't made my mind up completely about ttc#6 but thought I'd add my bit. My first I only bf for 3 weeks but didn't get af back til he was ~15mths, was gutting as I'd hoped for small age gaps, but that's what's happened with all of them, haven't used contraception for over 10 years and our kids are aged 10, 7, 5, 3, and 10mths- my original plan would have been to have them all 18mths apart. Still no af after having the last, my body seems to be very slow! I've had 5 mc too, which didn't help.

My sister however had her first after missing a couple of her pills, my niece is 1yo at the end of this month & my sister is preg again, unexpectedly this time too, due in Feb, so she'll have a 17mth age gap, can't help but feel a teensy bit jealous that she's getting the age gap I wanted, without even trying, =(.

Not entirely sure what my point was , but anyway, I have found taking B6 sped things up a bit, and for my last preg i used vitex, one tablet every day, was hard to find proper info but i took it from when I recovered from the last mc til I was 14weeks preg (apparently when the placenta takes over fully). I'm contemplating taking it again now, not necessarily to ttc but to start cycling again so I at least know when to avoid unprotected bd til we decide. *lurker out*

hi ladies
we are ttc#5 have been for almost a yr now we have 4 boys 6,5,3 & 19mths, but thats ok each month just has ds4 closer to 3yrs, my biggest age gap so far is 22mths so that will be something new.
I am CD17 but i have a 42days cycle though some months are 35days so will just have to cover all bases lol.
if we do get preg this cycle i will be due right between ds1 and 3's bdays, but we are having a homebirth so both will still get to have mummy home on there bday just maybe an extra sibling as well lol.

Hi ladies, so good to see this thread when I popped in. We are TTC#2 at the moment. only been off the pill for two cycles, this being number three. Had a 'maybe i'm pregnant' month last month - was about 7 days overdue! But no. It was quite good tho, i was able to stop and actually think if I was ready for this. I was able to have cuddles with a one week old at the time aswell and got all clucky and thought, yeah...we can do this!
You should have seen my hubby's face last night when i said i was booking him in for mon, wed, fri night cause it was baby making week......like a kid in a candy store!! ha ha. Certainly don't have the energy like we did TTC#1 so three times in a matter of 5 days is exciting for him!! ha ha ha.
we're taking it easy for another couple of cycles and then i'll get into charting etc if nothing happens.
Many fertility wishes!!

Our wee man is six months old so we're not actively trying but not preventing either. Have started charting again just to see what my cycles look like now. It took 3 years to get our first so we're just going to "see what happens" for #2! Hope it doesn't take that long as I'm not a spring chicken any more

Just introducing myself - I am Sarah, and DH and I have DD - 2.5 yrs old.  We intended to have two babies close together, but I found parenthood quite an adjustment!  So honestly we are only just ready for baby No 2 now.

My cycle pre-pregnancy was very regular - 28-30 days.  Now it is about 23-28 days and much more variable.  We have been "seeing what happens" since January this year, and trying more seriously since that little ticker at the bottom there!

I'm turning 37 in November, so not exactly young to be trying for another baby.  We really want our only child to have a sibling though.

I have been rather down about it, so am hoping the excitement will come back to me after being here with you ladies

I am counting my 1st cycle day as the day of MC bleeding as I am relying on what I have read on the internet... LOL my MW said to give myself a month or so... but I really don't want to LOL May aswell get back onto it!!

What day dpo are you now Kelz?
No signs of ov here at all, had my hopes up as my temps dipped then went up, but turns out the spike was norovirus, awesome, not . So, still no af or anything else here yet since having dd. Should prob start taking b6 and vitex.
Storm11 after my mcs it was anywhere between 6wks and 3 mths before I ov'd again (and got utd no af), but my cycle's have never behaved and I have heard of a few people who's bodies jump right back into line again, fx'd for you that you're one of the lucky ones, .

If AF does arrive will b going on to vitex to help regulate cycles.

AFM ff put me at possible ov a few days ago, I figured that my temps were only up because of my bug but it hasn't come back down today like I thought it would.
So, waiting to see what my temp is tomorrow. It says test on 17th so I guess I will be then if temps stay up, otherwise I'll definitely be taking vitex from then.

DH is back into the swing of things now (BDing) so hopefully we'll have some good news soon ... or at least in the next 6 months or so. Don't want to wait any longer to TTC as it took so long to make the first one. But Murphy's Law will be I'll get UTD straight away and then only have 15 months between them

Wow congrats Kelz! That's awesome.

Welcome to the new people.

Well i've been homeless for the last few weeks. lol. After DP got made redundant then got a new job in Auckland and we didn't find a house in time, me and the kids have been staying at my mums and in a house on my aunty's farm while DP is up in Auckland. At my mums ATM. Finally got a house that we're moving into on Saturday. It's on the market though so not sure how long we'll be there for. But at least we'll all be back together and can find a better house. I've hardly seen DP over the last 3 weeks so am missing him lots.

We've decided to start trying now instead of November. Well from this weekend, since we won't be seeing each other till then. lol. I only stopped taking the pill last week though, so not sure if that'll affect things or not.

Aww Deb,Not long to go! Im in Auckland so thats cool! Maybe we could catch up Are you from down that way? I was born in Palmy

SO went to the doc yesty as I have been having nasty pains in my belly, The hospital couldnt find anything wrong last time It was really bad, so I went back to the doc and have been diagnosed with IBS.
Feeling super sick and uncomfy, and have thrush for the first time in must be 10 years!
SO anyway, must change diet to see what is causign the pain etc and have had a few tips to take aloe and probiotics to help manage it
I did talk to her about the whole baby making saga - since I have had no trouble concieveing my first two, am only 34 and lactating they wont look at me. I do have PCOS, so she thinks the small changes from breastfeeding maybe affecting my fertility in the short term, but to just be patient
Im certainly not going to give up my preciuos girls feeding to have a baby that may or may not happen so I guess thats it then. I will start temping next month to see how things are going, and to make sure Im ovulating when I think I am, but otherwise I guess its just lots more BDing - hopefully Miss 3 will sleep in her bed a bit more!
Oh but she did give me a blood form to have my hormone levels checked

Thanks RJ. That would be great. I'm not from Feilding. We were only down there for a year. We had to move down there for DP's work (from Tauranga) as they closed down in Katikati. They don't seem to have a clue how to run a business and i'd say it'll go down soon. His new job seems much more stable and pays more. I have what the doctor thinks is either IBS or lactose intolerance. I think it's IBS. It sucks aye. Good luck with TTC, i hope you get your BFP real soon.

My dad has IBS, he had it super-severely but he started taking selenium and now he gets a bout only when hes under a huge amoutn of stress. Selenium is also a good supp to be taking while TTC

Storm I've always gone straight back into a normal cycle after MCs and conceived again quickly so FX thats what happens for you!!

I'm really just having a stalk GL!!

Hi all I've decided it is time to give my little girl a baby brother or sister, been stalking a few threads for a while but have decided just in case it takes a while that I better get my A in gear and start activily trying.

Got pg within a month with my little girl but had a MC when i was 17 which was never looked into my doctor just told me it was a blessing and that was it so little worried that it was just a fluke with her and this make take a little longer this time and I am not getting any younger.

Fingers crossed we all have short stay on this thread.

Well I am feeling VERY pregnant, but if I am, I'd probably only be like 3wks at the most. AF is due 21st so time will tell I guess. When is the earliest you can test? I did a test earlier, although I know it is prog too early, and it was negative, but my skin has turned to crap, I feel light headed and woozy, I'm tired as hell and sooooooooo hungry! All the same signs as when I found out I was UTD with DD. I was 5wks when I found out with her. Oh gosh I hope I am!!

Hi ladies. Well we're in Auckland now. Only in a temporary house though as it's on the market and this is a bit of a rough area. Like most around here. lol.

This TWW is going so slow. lol. I'm soooo impatient.

Hey lisajo, my AF isn't due till next Tuesday but i have a few symptoms at the moment. Like my boobs have been killing me lately. Surely i wouldn't be showing symptoms this early though. Oh well time will tell. Good luck.

Another thread to lurk in. We are TTC#2 at the moment, but AF have only just returned (had 3) and am still BF #1. We wanted a smaller age gap but with the BF and lack of AF it wasnt to be. Fx that we get UTD soon. DD doesnt know it yet, but she really wants a sibling.

Good Morning Girls!

I would like to join in since we are now trying for our second child! I am really excited but absolutely scared at the same time if I can manage two small kids
My Victoria is 17 months old, and although we always wanted at least 3 years age gap, we now really want a sibling for her!

I have had to decrease breastfeeding and as soon as I stopped completely, I finally had an ovulation and my period. I guess I am one of those women who are just not fertile while breastfeeding. I can't wait to breastfeed the next baby, since I do miss that special closeness.

I am charting my cycle by taking my temperature and expect an ovulation in maybe 7-10 days, IF I'm on a regular cycle.

Good luck to all TTC Ladies out there!

Congrats Lisa!

I hope i can join the July thread too. I caved and tested at 1am on Monday with a First Response dipstick. There is the faintest line but it might just be an evap line since those tests are apparently bad for them. If i remember my dates right AF was due yesterday. I've been getting cramps the last few days but no AF yet. The thing is, i stopped taking the pill only a couple of weeks before we started trying, so not sure if that will have affected things or not. So i'll be testing again on Friday if AF doesn't show up by then.

Well it turns out that barely visible line on the dipstick was just a ..........really faint positive. There's no mistaking the line on this test.

Hello all,

Hope everyone has had a good weekend!

Star1 – My little boy is 17 months too. Great going with the BF, wish I could have gone that long.

Abbey – it will be interesting to see how many bubs are born in August thanks to the world cup celebrations hehe

I've started up my charting again, should have started it a few months ago but oh well, and I've started taking folic acid. Bring on New Years baby!

Hi Ladies, just wanted to pop in and say I am joining this club - have a wee girl who is 7 months - took a while last time so thought we would try for number 2 now. Did not chart last time but think I will this time as my af is still all over the show. For those of you who have charted do you think it helped?
