This will be DH's first Father's Day and I'm stumped with what to get him or do.

What did/do you do for your baby's Daddy on Father's Day?

Last year I got a mug with a photo on it and a stainless steel coffee plunger.

This year he's getting socks

Our first Fathers Day too!!! I have just got a mug for DH from snap fish. Only $25ish including delivery.

How about a mini digital photo frame for his key ring, can take it anywhere...

Dont have anything special planned... prob allow him to sleep in! and do brekkie in bed...

Am toying with the idea of getting messy with DD and making a card but would have to buy paints and $25 was my budget!

We did hand prints on a tile with a message at Paint The Earth for DH's first Fathers Day last year. We also found out I was UTD on Fathers Day so that was a pretty good present in itself

Not sure what I'll do this year, maybe the same type of thing but with DD's footprints and something else from DS, I might get him to do a painting and frame it as his first to hang in our new home when we move in a few weeks.

Definitely no UTD present this year though!!

Hehe Mrs Emma.

C&J will your hubby be home for fathers day or are you looking for something to post to him?

Last year DH got a story book to read with DD. I also got her to draw on some paper to make a card (just with pens I had around the house, I didn't buy anything special).

This year I think we'll go on a picnic and to the park or something - try to get some family time in just the three of us before we become 4.

I found a really cheap, amateur photographer ($30) and I'm getting a few photos done of just Willem. I'm also going to get him to draw in a card, it won't be great but that doesn't matter, right

After getting professional family photos done i would also suggest a voucher for family photos. I am so stoked with ours! It's not an exciting present, but photos last a lifetime, and even my husband is stoked as with the photos we just had done!

DH is home and he gets a sleep in every weekend Father's Day won't be any different.

Something photographic could be nice. We will probably go for a family picnic depending on the weather.

No way would I want to be UTD this year.

I've seen story books about Dad's will probably get something like that.

I got a new camera for Mother's Day I don't have that much of a budget for him would like to get him something nice.

I'm quite fond of crappy gifts when it is for traditional holidays rather than 'you're awesome!" times year-round.

DS will be giving his Goddad a shirt and tie set, if I can find a Godfather card, a dad one might be a bit awkward.

I'm still UTD but want to get DH something for Father's Day from Bub (he got me a clothes voucher for preggy clothes) but not really sure what. I was going to get a shirt that says I Dad on it but can't find one anywhere!!!
Can't wait until next year for Bub to actually give a gift. Love the idea of using baby IN the presents

Super tempted to give some kind of sarcastic gift for DSs absent father. I saw yazoom has a special on those harvey norman photo books - $30 something for the book. If thats within the scope of your budget could get one printed up of daddy/daughter photos, or photos of her holding a different letter on paper in each one to spell LOVE YOU DADDY or something.

We went to the local paint a ceramic place and DS 'painted' a mug for DH to take to work. It has come out really well.

@Bowie Ha, I'd do that for Ben's father but he'd think it was genuine.

Not original but I just bought a frame with space for 5 photos and am going to photograph the kids holding a letter each spelling DADDY (2 photos of each of them then for the Y, they can both be in the photo).

Does anyone have a specific book they would recommend for Fathers Day? A children's book that he would read with baby.

I've got my DH a book called 'kisses for Daddy'. It's about a bear and his dad and the baby bear wouldn't give his dad any kisses but at the end he gives him a bear hug and kiss. It's got lovely illustrations and would be perfect for dad to read.

That sounds so cute!! I'll check on Fishpond, they should have it. DH loves reading to DS, so that would be perfect.

I also bought last month a Milkshake machine for Fathers day, and then did some sneaky questions like randomly saying Oh a Milkshake machine would be cool on a sunny day like this. And DH was like, yea nah not really. Ha! So that is still hidden in the office - not quite sure what I will do with that. Maybe bring it out before the cool Fathers Day gifts. :-) I am sure I will love using it anyways!

Mango, DD/DH have the same book. Also some of the spot books have spots dad in them too. The lift the flaps makes them a huge hit with my DD.

SMW85 there is also a great little book called My Dad. The author is Anthony Browne. My kids have really liked his books.

I try not to do too much for Fathers day. He will probably get a homemade card and some baking or something along those lines.
